Who: Rinoa (as K-Na) and Selphie (as Duel)
When: sometime last week.
What: they have ice cream and giggle and be very girly
Warnings: none really :D
Selphie had gone to the store earlier that day to get the ice cream. She was definitely glad they'd decided to not go out after all. It was weird walking around, being your normal, chipper self, and having people give you the strangest looks because guys don't usually act like that.
She picked up the container of ice cream and put it in a bad, then headed out the door. She headed to room 202, where Rinoa was residing and knocked on the door. "Rinny~ It's me~"
Rinoa wasn't sure what she should be wearing. She wore such feminine-like nature. And her hair was short, and naturally spikey, and there was a collection of hair gels and hairsprays in the bathroom. And she overdid it. A lot. Enough that those spikes were less natural and more borderline sharp. Oh, and there was the weird sign on his -- her -- whatever! -- forehead.
She came to the door in a muscle shirt and a baggy pair of pants. Cargo pants, or something like that. She looked over Selphie and broke into a smile, "Heeeeey! You look hot!"
Selphie looked down at Rinoa. She looked so weird! But pretty cute too. Even though she knew Rinoa was going to look like a boy, she still found it unexpected. She grinned back and held out the bag. "So do you! In a... sexy punk sort of way!" With that, Selphie laughed. "So how do you like my accent? I'm slowly getting used to it, I think."
Yeah. Rinoa could have listened to that voice all day, and she was pretty sure she was going to. Rinoa grinned, lifted her hands and drew her fingertips over her cheeks, "You bet I do! I'm one of the hottest guys I've ever seen!" She laughed, closed the door after her and reached over to nudge Selphie's bandana. "So, we ready to go?"
Selphie blinked. "Hey, I thought we were staying inside! Unless you wanna go out. If so, I need to throw this in your freezer!" Selphie's eyes didn;t leave Rinoa's new hairstyle. That was some of the coolest looking hair she'd ever seen. "Damn. You're one of the hottest guys I've ever seen, too!" She reached out to touch one of the spikes. It looked solid, and not really much like hair. "I like the hair."
Oh. Well, then. Selphie had a valid point. Obviously being stuck in this guy's body was doing funny things to her head. She burst into laughter, which caused her to pause for a few moments, as it wasn't her voice in the least. In the end, she opened the door again and showed her in, "Yeah, yeah! You're right! Movie time. And ice cream!" Then the strangest sensation to turn pink came over her. Perhaps it was just the situation, "Awh, gee. Thanks. I wouldn't want to be hot with anyone other than you."
"You're welcome!" She moved into Rinoa's room and set the ice cream down on the counter. "So I didn't have any movies with watching, except for the one about trains that Irivine got me. But I didn't bring that... So if you have any, that's be awesome. And if not, that's okay! We can just eat ice cream!" Really, she was fine with either. She didn't watch many movies though, because her attention span was incredibly short... But if it was interesting enough, she could sit still for quite a while.
She closed the door and yawned a little to herself. If anything, the movies K-Na had could be background noise. She knew about Selphie's short attention span, which was why they normally went someplace quiet. And if it wasn't quiet, then there was enough going on to keep her occupied. "Uh... This K-Na is kind of weird. He's got some science fiction stuff, and some mecha stuff too. I don't know if you'd be into that, though."
"Well, I guess we could put something on for background noise!" Selphie was more excited about spending time with Rinoa and eating ice cream than she was about watching a movie anyway. "So unless there's something you really wanna see, just throw something in! I'll get the ice cream and the bowls and stuff!"
That said, she moved into the kitchen and started getting out bowls and spoons, and started scooping some ice cream. It was like a mini date! And that was always fun!
A mini date. That was exactly what Rinoa was thinking. It was a strange thought in the back of her mind. A very odd one. Rinoa went sifting through K-na's videos and finally found a science fiction one that looked interesting. At least for that background noise Selphie seemed so fond of.
Once she'd put the movie in, she started it, feeling that neither one would pay much attention to it. Then she went to join Selphie in the kitchen, "How's it going in here, Mister Britain?"
It was Selphie's turn for the pink to tint her...his... cheeks. Hopefully Rinoa wouldn't notice. She looked up. "Mister Britain?" With a grin, she handed over the bowl of ice cream. "It's going! Here, have some ice cream!" When Rinoa took her bowl, Selphie finished scooping up her own ice cream and then put the container in the freezer. "Awesome! ... I guess we should eat in here, huh? I don't want to make a mess and get ice cream everywhere."
Mmm... Ice cream.
Rinoa took what was offered and seemed a bit oblivious to the reddening cheeks, which might have been for the better. Perhaps it was easier to talk behind the bodies of men and not themselves. She took a bite in the midst of a nod and then seemed quite moved by the prospect of such a treat. "Wow! That's so good!" Then she smiled brightly, "It makes me really happy to see you. I think I do better with one-on-one conversations than in a crowd."
Selphie did fine in both situations, really. But she was an extremely personable person, and loved crowds. But in this body, where she felt really awkward, she was way happier being with just Rinoa. She took a bite of her ice cream and smiled. "Oh wow. I picked out some really delicious ice cream!" Of course, all ice cream was delicious... but this was especially delicious. Maybe it was the company. Everything was better when you were sharing it with a friend.
"I'm really happy to see you too! I'm glad we could do this!"
This was true. All ice cream was good and it worked having that background noise too. As much as Rinoa pretended to be real comfortable, she wasn't getting that. It made her a little distraught that she had the parts of a boy. Though she was probably taking it better than some of the other girls. That thought alone made her quite a bit happy.
"I honestly don't think we spend enough time together. But then, I'm getting busy with work and stuff too."
"Yeah, I understand that... I've been so busy since the festival. But we really do need to do more stuff together. We should make it a weekly thing, what do you think?" She took another bite of her ice cream, and smiled. Selphie wasn't all that comfortable either. Though it had gotten better than the night she had freaked out about boy parts on her body to Zell a few nights prior. Still. It was terrifying. She tried not to think about it too much. "I miss spendinh time with you!"
A weekly thing, huh? Rinoa could go with that. When she really gave it consideration, she realized that she hadn't seen Albel or Laguna either. Then again, after the festival, she'd felt like she had to completely avoid the latter. There was a rivalry there that she didn't want to take part in, and it didn't look like she had any other choice other than to step back. Selphie managed to win hands down, it seemed.
"I think that's a good idea," she replied with a bit and a bit of a sigh behind her words. Then she nodded, as though to confirm her words.
"Awesome! I'm glad you agree!" Selphie was happy to hear that. She missed seeing Rinoa. She hadn't seen her at ALL since the festival and that was far too long. It was her own fault though. She should have managed her time a little better... But enough of that...
"So how are you?" she asked, poking at the ice cream in her bowl. "Well. Aside from the obvious..."
"...Uhm..."
Rinoa wasn't real sure how to answer that. She didn't want to be honest, because she and Selphie were supposed to be optimists. Rinoa was actually a little angry. Angry and annoyed. There wasn't a point in saying that, though. "I'm not bad. I'm happy to be busy."
Because being busy meant she wasn't thinking about how infuriated she was. "How are you?"
"I wish I wasn't so busy! But such is life," Selphie said with a sigh. Luckily for Rinoa, the younger girl was bad about catching on to people and whether they were telling the truth or not. So she just assumed that all was well with her friend. "But it's kind of nice so I don't get bored, you know?"
"Aside from being busy, I'm alright! Except for having boy parts. Not quite used to that yet..."
Rinoa found herself laughing. The situation was amusing. She had to admit it. She'd go to bed as a woman and wake up the next day as a man. Not everyone could say that and putting aside the awkward feeling behind it, it was comical.
"It's not so bad. I guess I can't be too upset about it. It's sort of neat."
She licked her spoon and dropped it in her bowl. She blinked at Rinoa. "I... yeah... kind of... but... I don't know. I kinda hoped, you know... that the first time I saw one... well... that it wouldn't be my own.... you know?" By this time, Selphie-as-Duel was blushing badly, and Rinoa definitely couldn't miss that.
And that only made her companion cackle louder. She drew her fingertips over her forehead and her laughter died down into chuckles. With a tilt of the head, she finished off her ice cream and nodded once, "Well, in a way, doesn't it make you feel not so... uncertain, I guess? I mean it is yours in a way, though technically it's Duel's. Can you imagine what they're thinking on their end? Being stuck in the body of girls?"
That did actually make her feel better. Sure, she was still embarrassed, but now she, too, was laughing pretty hard. "Teehee, I bet their playing with their new found boobies!" It would probably have bothered her more, except that it was her hands, so she didn't think too hard about it. And now she was giggling more. Good thing no one else was here to see this. The picture was pretty hilarious. Two boys laughing and giggling to each other over ice cream. It was definitely good that they didn't go out. Otherwise the boys would have a difficult time once they got their bodies back.
Try as she might have, Rinoa could not, for the life of her, stop the snort that escaped. Boys playing with boobies, huh? Honestly, she thought if K-Na had any intentions of doing that, she'd knee him one in the groin. While she knew they would be her own hands, there was still something so wrong about a guy getting excited or thrilled over her body.
She nodded slowly, "Yeah... I guess that's probably what they're doing. I hope whatever they're doing isn't as silly as what we're doing now. I guess Duel and K-Na are friends with each other anyway, so maybe this wouldn't look so odd, after all?"
RINOA SNORTED! That made Selphie shriek out of pure laughter. "Maybe not, but how many guys that are friends do you see acting like we are right now?" Selphie managed to say in between giggles. This was so much fun. Had they been laughing about something else, she might have even forgotten that she was in a different body. Pushing her empty bowl aside, she placed her arms on the table and buried her face in her arms. It was too much!
On the border of tears, Rinoa stuck the spoon to her ice cream between her lips. It was a way of attempting to hinder any future chortles. When she regained her composure, her expression softened. Yeah, Selphie's companionship was pretty perfect. It was spectacular. She really needed that sort of thing, even if it was coming from the brunette. "I guess you're right. We shouldn't act like this in the open. The boys might lynch us."
She lifted her head and looked up at Rinoa. "Tee hee... Yeah, they wouldn't be happy with us at all..." Though, Selphie was feisty enough to act like this in public, just for giggles.
She wiped at her face. She'd been laughing so hard that she'd actually started crying. This was pretty much the most perfect thing to happen in a while. She'd always loved Rinoa's company, and now she could say she loved it just as much when Rinoa was in a male body. "I'm really glad we decided to do this!"
In the end, when it came to the two of them together, Rinoa and Selphie combined nicely, no matter how they looked. It meant their personalities fit together. It meant they were compatible. And it was the first time Rinoa had ever attempted to look at things like that. Compatible...? Yes, it was true. But...
She never faltered, even in her strange thoughts. Instead, she removed the spoon from her lips and nodded again, "It was really all your idea, you know."
"Well..." Selphie straightened up, and played with her new green hair. She'd decided to skip the bandana, because it was silly. "Yeah, but.. that's besides the point, Rinny!" She didn't want to take full credit for this play date. Rinoa had agreed, after all! And it takes two to tango! Or something.
"Do you have anything to drink?" She asked, suddenly. The ice cream and all the laughing had made her really thirsty.
That's true. Rinoa had agreed. Then again, she had no desire to turn down her closest friend in Aegean. Well, her closest friend back home too. Besides Watts and Zone, of course.
"Oh, I bet we've got something," she said as she scooted through the kitchen and opened the refrigerator. There were a lot of different types of soda. A lot. K-Na must have really liked it or something. So when Rinoa lifted a hand, she gestured for Selphie to join her, "Why don't you pick something? I don't think K-Na's going to care."
"Alright!" She got up and moved over next to her friend and peered in the fridge. Wow. There was a lot of soda in there. "Yeah, I mean... he has more than enough, I'll be surprised if he even notices that one is gone..." Selphie agreed, reaching into the fridge and grabbing one. "Thanks!"
She proceeded to open it and take a drink, then set the can on the counter. Ohh, how she loved sugary soda...
Rinoa followed suit and took a can as well. Then she closed the refrigerator with a foot. As she opened it, she leaned against the refrigerator door and took a sip.
"I guess we should really be thanking K-Na when we get a chance. Oh, and Duel too, for giving us such an awesome way to spend our time." She lowered a hand and picked at her clothes, "Guy's got some awesome threads. I could get used to wearing this. Though I guess I sort of miss being me."
"What about you?" she asked as she looked over to her green-haired companion.
"We should. It seems unfair to have a good time at their expense and not even thank them for it!" If she ever ran into them, she'd have to leap on them and thank them.
Selphie looked down at her own clothes, then back at Rinoa's. K-Na had cooler clothes in Selphie's opinion, but Duel's weren't bad. "He does. But I can't imagine you wearing them. I mean, if you looked like yourself again."I miss being me, too. I'm used to being me. Though, I'm totally digging this green hair!"
Rinoa grinned with agreement. She nodded to Selphie and edged over to the counter to lean against that instead. Whatever the case was, it seemed like K-Na was just built for that nonsense.
"Neither could I," she nodded. "The same as I couldn't picture you wearing Duel's clothes either. We look better in our clothes. I wonder how the boys are handling it." Then she straightened her posture, "Did you see that Zell and Squall got switched? I bet Squall's having a heart attack." With a tap to her chin, she grinned, "And Seifer got stuck with that pop idol Zell was talking to. He totally got what was coming to him."
"Oh yeah! I totally heard about Zell and Squall. Zell IMed me the other night and he was freaking out about it! I found it kind of funny, actually, but don't tell him I said that! But I haven't talked to Squall in a while soI don't know about him." The news about Seifer was a shock, though. "No way! Ahaha! That's hilarious!" Seifer must be even more pissed off now than before. "Oh, tee hee, I should bug Seifer next time I see him online!" Bugging Seifer. One of Selphie's favorite pasttimes. She took another sip of her soda, and shook her head, grinning.
If there was one thing Rinoa could rely on, it was Selphie's ability to tell her what was going on. The others never really talked to her, after all, and that was to be expected. She was somewhat out of the loop, but it was always nice just to hear how things were going along with Selphie's word of mouth advertisement.
"I wonder who Irvine got exchanged with..." Though it was a wandering thought that didn't last very long before she moved along. "Albel got switched with some loud-mouthed female, or something like that. Whatever the case, he didn't seem very happy about it." She paused briefly before going into the next person, "...What do... Well, what about President Loire?"
Selphie was good at spreading the word. She was a natural-born gossiper. And usually if she found out something juicy, she made an effort to tell Rinoa. At least, that was the case since she'd gotten real close to the other girl. Of course, lately the gossiper of the group had been Zell, and not herself. Which was okay too!
"I don't know... I haven't talking to Irvy, or Laguna either." she shrugged, and assumed they were both okay, otherwise she would have heard about it. "But I'm sure that if it was a big deal, they would have posted about it, right?"
Rinoa didn't consider their conversations to be real filled with gossip. It was more of just a way to pass time. Oh, and to see Selphie, of course. It was a good excuse to her. Otherwise, she felt sort of strange saying she wanted to spend time with someone. Something had gone somewhat awry in her time at home.
"Hm... Yeah. We'd know if there was something really wrong. You're right. I guess that means they're both okay. I'm glad to think of it like that. I don't like that senseless worry or what not." She nodded slowly, as though to confirm her uncertain words.
"Right! So let's not too concerned. Besides... this is going to go away, right? I mean... We won't be stuck in these bodies forever, right?" Oh Hyne, she hoped not. She'd always wanted to be a little taller, but now she missed being tiny.
Selphie looked over at the TV, and tried to figure out what was going on. But she hadn't been paying attention at all, so she gave up on that almost immediately and turned back to Rinoa with a smile on her face.
"I'm not afraid of anything like that. Nothing ever lasts. Nothing good; nothing bad. Nothing's eternal." She sounded a little disappointed by those words, however, it melted when she turned her attention back onto Selphie. "So don't worry about it, okay? And just think, if we do end up stuck like this, at least we look good. There's always a silver lining to the cloud." And with that said, she took another drink from her soda.
Selphie had been worried at first, because Rinoa sounded... kind of almost upset. But then she went on, and that made Selphie smile. "Yeah, I suppose you're right. At least we're hot." She giggled, and grabbed Rinoa's hand. "Come on, let's sit down again. I'm tired of standing!" They could at least sit by the TV and make it seem like they were making somewhat of an effort to watch this movie.
