3 months old!!!

Wow.  How is it possible that, as of yesterday, my tiny little baby is 3 whole months old?! He's still growing like a weed, and still an absolute angel.  He started rolling from his back to his tummy a couple of weeks ago, and I estimate him to weigh close to 14 pounds.  He doesn't have another well-baby visit scheduled for another month, but he's doing great.  Still sleeping through the night.  I wake him at 6 am to eat, and he goes back to sleep until 9 am.  Then he eats at 9 am, noon, 3 pm, and 6 pm.  He takes a bath at 8:30 pm, then once he's clean and dressed for bed, I give him his last bottle at 9 pm.  Once he's swaddled, he's out within 15 minutes and stays that way until I wake him at 6 am to start over.  Still giving him bottled breastmilk, with the occasional nursing session thrown in if I'm caught without a bottle or if I need to empty out but I don't have my pump handy.

He naps fairly well...my only complaint is that he won't sleep for long stretches during the day unless he's either being held or he falls asleep in a moving vehicle.  He won't nap in his crib! That's totally my fault, though, because I started out always holding him while he slept.  And I still don't really mind that, because I just love to be able to look at his angelic little face when he's sleeping, and I don't usually need to do anything during his naptime that I can't do while either holding him or wearing him.  But if he ever ends up in daycare, I can see it posing a problem.

This weekend, Bear and I are at my mom's.  Her church homecoming is tomorrow, and she really wanted me to bring the baby.  Ali was able to get out of it because he has to work tomorrow, but I brought Bear anyway.  I'm really not a fan of my mom's church.  It was my church growing up, and I never much cared for that style of worship.  There's nothing wrong with it, but the hellfire and brimstone thing just isn't my cup of tea.  I prefer the more scholarly type of sermonizing.  But I do miss gospel music sometimes (we don't get a lot of that in the Catholic church), so that's something I look forward to hearing tomorrow.  I'm just wondering how Bear will handle it.  He's never had a problem with loud noises before, so I imagine if I wear him in the wrap, he should do fine.

Liz's wedding is coming up in two weeks.  I picked up my dress from the alterations place yesterday, and it fits great.  She did a really good job.  I'm excited for this event...I just know it's going to be gorgeous.  Liz is generally super low-key and laid-back, but she really got into the spirit of things with the wedding planning and I think it will pay off big time.

I've been fighting a cold for the past week or so, and I finally lost the battle yesterday.  So I've been guzzling DayQuil and Chloraseptic since then, but my nose is still running like a faucet, I can barely breathe, every other sentence I speak is punctuated by a sneezing fit, and my throat feels like I've been eating sandpaper.  Bear's been sneezing more than usual, but aside from that he seems okay so far.  Hopefully the breastmilk antibodies are working for him.  But I've been trying to limit my contact with him as much as possible and washing my hands constantly and trying not to breathe on him too much.  Hopefully he won't get sick...I wouldn't have the slightest idea what to do for an ill 3-month-old!

Football season is well underway and ROLL TIDE!!! Bama is having an awesome season so far, and we just beat the #3 ranked Georgia Bulldogs tonight, so we're feeling pretty good about our chances this year.  Still got some challenging games left, but I can't think of any reason why we shouldn't beat Auburn this year, and every Bama fan knows that's the only game that counts.  Can't wait for Thanksgiving weekend!
