Oh where to begin? It is Sunday, and I feel as if I have some homework to be doing for tomorrow. I think this summer vacation thing is going to take a little getting used to, haha, since Ive had nearly non-stop school since August of 2004! Even the Winter Breaks seemed to fly by, and I still felt like I was in school because I had the job right on campus. So, if I can stay away, this will be the longest Ive been away from the MVCC campus. You want to hear something sick, though? Ive been thinking all day that I need to get over there to upload my pictures, since the network is so much better over there than at home (because we have dialup still).
Ok, so Ill start with Friday. Friday seems so far away now, so over-and-done-with. But anyways, so Friday I woke up at 7:30 to the sound of cant remember. Anyways, I woke up earlier than Id have liked, but ended up driving my brothers to their respective schools, coming home and getting myself dressed, and by 9:00 I was at the Gogolas to watch Mary while the missus went to work. Mary was sick and kind of quite and clingy, so she was easy. What *really* bugged the heck out of me, though, was that Elena gave me $10 for the 3 hours that I was there. I was like ???!?!?! I didnt realize it til after I got home, but come on, thats like $3.50 an hour, not even??? I get paid at least $6/hr to watch one kid, so I was expecting at least 20 or something. Its a touchy topic, though, and I dont know how I can approach it. Because my time is so much better spent at home cleaning my room, or just BEING home, rather than sit there for 3 hours for less than minimum wage. Any suggestions??? Anyways, went home and cleaned, washed my hair, went to get Gram at 4:45, made it back home by 5:30 (traffic wasnt what Id expected!!) and left again at 6:00 to make it on time to A building to assemble for the graduation. Justin brought me a lovely gift! A pretty necklace and pair of earrings that were made up of tiny red roses not real ones, mind you, but its so cute! (Im wearing it today, too, because it matched the shirt Im wearing ^^ ) The ceremony was nice, but SOOOO LONG!!! It started at 7 and ended at 9:30. The longest part was the speeches, or else wed have been out of there by 8:00, I think. We all got refreshments in the Moraine Rooms, and then mom and dad took the Grandparents home, (Anthony was at Relay for Life); Matt, Justin, and I went home. Soon my parents returned and we all had MORE cake lol!! Justin left at 11:15 and I think I went to bed.
Saturday, mom woke me at 7:30 and we went to WalMart to get some things we missed on Thursday. We had a late breakfast at McDonalds, you know those breakfast burritos that we love so much! We were home by 11ish, but we soon discovered that we needed Scotch Tape, so it was BACK out to the store for me! I also had to get to the card store, so it made the trip longer for me. I ran into Mitch at his job at QuikDrop, and it was perfect, because not only did I get to see my friend, but I also was offered a great deal on shipping!! Since I send stuff to my friends across country from time to time (Montana, California, Louisiana, Oklahoma, anyone else???) its nice to know that I can get a good deal. There are some things that Ill be shipping this summer, as soon as I can, so its nice to know that Ill be saving some moolah J thanks Mitch!! Well, chatted with him for like 20 minutes, then I had to still get to the card store, so I went, and oh goodness, ran into Mrs Ferry, who works in District 117 or something, anyways, shes kind of a family favorite. Another 20 minutes later I left with my thank-yous! I stopped to get my $30 medication from Jewel, grabbed some stamps, and was off home. My mom was like an hour for 3 stores??? Haha thats what socialization does to you, right??? Once home, I slapped a stamp on a letter for Elena thats been waiting since May 5th to be mailed, then I sat down and wrote one for Sam, one for Elena, and started one to Alex. My thumb is hurting, though, because I wrote SO MUCH yesterday, so I better rest it up, huh? Had to run out to Jewel again with Mom and get stuff for dinner, then Justin called and said that we *cant* go to his house tonight because his parents were fighting, so it worked out nicely, because I just grilled for dinner, and we had a nice dinner with mom. The 2 of us walked to BlockBuster after dinner and rented The Chronicles of Riddick. I got my own card at BlockBuster, and I put Justins name on it, since we always rent stuff together. That way, he can pay sometimes, haha. Nah, just because we always go together, and now he can rent without me, ya know, on his way over or something. I didnt really care for the movie, despite wanted to see it. I caught myself dozing off during important parts, waking confused, and the ending was open and terrible. I hate ones like that!!! Justin and I snuggled down after the movie for a bit, had a few laughs, and then he went home around 12:15am. I went straight to sleep after I read another chapter of the book Im reading ::guilty:: Im telling you !!! Addiction!!!
This morning I slept in til 9:20, got ready for 10:00 Mass, and we all went. Since *this* Sunday we were treating as Moms Mothers Day since last Sunday was all about my grandmothers we went after church to the Chicago Botanic Gardens so fun!!! I loved being outside, and I got some pretty pictures, so Ill try to post them later if the internet doesnt be such a royal pain uploading them as slow as molasses but it will, and Ill have to do it at MVCC when I get the chance. Anyways, after that, we went to eat at Sweet Tomatoes J I am now stuffed a good 3 hours after we ate. *guilty* I promise that this week Ill eat healthy!!! We went to Circuit City on the way home because Dad wanted to pick up stuff for a wireless network, DSL connection, whatever hes been talking about it for weeks. Maybe by the time I go away to NIU, itll get done? Who knows but I *did* stoop to spend even MORE money, shamefully, and bought the Anna Nalick CD Wreck of the Day. It was $13 + tax, but its been so long since Ive had a new CD. I like it, too! Shes got a nice voice. Neat songs.
So, when I got home, finally, Harriet had left a message on my answering machine, so I called her, and I had to leave a message. Then I called Justin, but he wasnt home either. So, instead, I uploaded my pics from my camera to my computer, resized and renamed them, so theyre ready to go as soon as I connect to the internet.
On some other things
So, the Sox kicked the shit out of the Cubs for 2 games in a row, and we missed the brawl on Saturday night. Im not going to ask questions, because Ill probably get a dispute either way brawl aside, and yes, I know that the Cubs actually WON today, so Im sure all the north side fans are going crazy but I wish I hadnt posted several weeks back about some people having really shitty sportsmanship. Because Im about ready to jump in a few peoples faces with a huge F-YOU. Seriously, like I said, Im totally supportive of Chicago, be it Sox or Cubs, but for crying out loud whens the last time the Cubs won big? On a point of more technical terms I honestly wonder why the Sox win so much and the Cubs lose so much. Really, I have to wonder. Whats the chemistry that the Sox have that the Cubs dont? I asked my family, and got a few different ideas. It could be the manager; maybe one is just more motivating than the other? Could it be the trainers? Are the Sox paying more for better trainers, or do the Cubs have trainers that, by luck, just arent as effective? Equipment? Strategies? Maybe the Sox just work better together as a team? Really I want to know. Theres just got to be a tangible reason why the Sox are so with it, and the Cubs arent. I wish theyd do better. Maybe thatd alleviate some of the tensions between the North and South sides? Nah probably not. Well, I gave it a good hard think, because as of yesterday, I wanted to walk up to every Cubs fan that is so God-awfully profane to anybody supporting the Sox and say youre GOOFY because the Cubs STINK, theyre having a TERRIBLE season (as USUAL!!!) and they just made themselves look even worse by attacking Sox players. THIS is the kind of team you support??!?! Ok, go ahead, get all offended. Thats how I feel when you get all in Sox-supporters faces on how they suck so badly, well check it out!! Sox won the series, and the Cubs dont have much going for them. Good for them, glad they won today, but that doesnt change anything. It was no steam-roll, 7-4 is still a close kind of game. So, I guess Im just as bad as the people that I looked down upon a few weeks ago. Oh well.
Justin and I are supposed to spend the day together tomorrow. I have no idea what were going to do. I dont even know what the weather is going to be like. We were *going* to go to Great America, but we decided to wait til another day. Maybe in July, even August. That would make me happy J Meanwhile, I save my money, and maybe we could go bike riding or something like that. No idea, though, because he hasnt called me back yet. Wonder if he will? Who knows!
Well, its 7:12 now, and Im going to and hook up to the internet, post this, start uploading pictures (by the way, Justin and Dad have ones from Graduation, so Ill get those up later), and get to work in my room. J
