The Strange Delightful

I had this *really* long entry about my chinese politics class all (ok *mostly*) written out and when I was in another window IE decided to shut itself down. No real crashing... Just *blip* IE closed. So, bye-bye nice LJ entry. You have all been spared my very long discussion of the text i read for class today and discussion in class (if anybody did happen to wonder about it... hey ask me, we'll see if i can recall any of it at a later point. ;D )

Reason I am re-posting: I am proud that I *did* say a couple things in the class discussion. Neither was really exemplary or amazing ( I am of an unsociable, taciturn disposition, unwilling to speak unless I expect to say something that will amaze the whole room... ok, not exactly, but if you get that, then you get it ;) ) But I was proud that I finally made myself talk. Also was glad that I managed a very easy conversation with one of the girls in the class as we were walking out of Derby Hall. I think she feels like a fish out of water in there too. Nice to know I'm not the only one :)

I will cut myself off pretty shortly, so as not to make another humungous post (and the other really was gargantuan). I am so glad it's a thursday... I like thursdays (they have all the appeal of fridays with no expectations. so whatever good happens on a thursday is a true surprise.). CGS meeting tomorrow... I kinda fudged the resume thing (i don't have a good current one... so i told them i'd get one to them on my app... we'll see what they tell me. at least i can say that i turned the app in before the delegate meeting tomorrow. :/ I know, bad procrastination, megan! So, now I will go to the goofy meeting for sure at the very least.

Now: I will go read some more of "Educating Alice" by Alice Steinbach.. I have Villette to read as well (and I read the introduction... I have decided this is a bad practice... it tells me important things that occur in the novel :P bah... they should put these as afterwords, not introductions.) I'm reading Educating Alice first because it'll be light and fun reading, well and I really loved her book "Without Reservations"... So, I will now go read for fun! :D

Last items: i know i keep saying i'm listening to this one mike doughty song... i'm not religious, but i am stuck on this song a whole lot. (listen: http://www.mikedoughty.com/music/mp3/MikeDoughty-F_Train.mp3 ) Mayhap none of you will love it, but that's okay :) also! exciting eels news! you can listen to some sample things at the eels website now in the downloads section! http://www.eelstheband.com/downloads/index.asp (tho i have to say that i haven't had much luck in getting the songs from shootenanny! up) yay for clips of the live from town hall cd/dvd *and* b/gs of E! (i am trying to decide... E with his stogie? E with umbrella? *gleedom!* (currently: E on tractor!)
