Hello, my name is Mark, or ozma914 . Instead of me rambling on, here are some lists for you to look at; feel free to check out my user info as well, if you’d like.
Things about me:
- I work a LOT. I'm a dispatcher, volunteer firefighter, and writer for local papers. I also do (volunteer) PR for some local charities and non-profits. I'm often on LJ during weird hours that vary day-to-day.
- I have a mustache. (My fiancee insists that this is very important)
- I have (mostly grown-up) kids.
- I'm engaged. (See above about fiancee)
- I've been on LJ for about six years now, and I've met some really awesome people during my stay.
- I love writing and reading, and, when I have the time, watching TV and movies.
- One of my novels, Storm Chaser, will be published this June, by Whiskey Creek Press, which will also be publishing an anthology of my short stories. One of my works is also set to appear in a collaborative humor book that's still in the editing process, and my YA mystery novel is in the hands of a (potential) agent. It's going to be a busy summer.
- I enjoy being outside - hiking, swimming, or taking out some canoes/kayaks.
- My weaknesses are ice cream, chocolate, and Mountain Dew.
- I am terrified of (and allergic to) spiders.
What I write: Romance, Science Fiction, some YA and Mystery, some non-fiction. I write novels, short stories, a weekly humor column and news articles for local papers, and fanfic.
What I read: Science fiction, Fantasy, Romance, Mystery, Historical Fiction/Alt-Histories, Comics and Graphic Novels, Some YA, and all sorts of non-fiction.
What I don’t read: Experimental fiction/ prose/ poetry, and celebrity rags.
What I post: I do post about things happening in my area and my life, but I mostly share my writing, and talk about writing. I post my column after its initial run in the paper and post fiction, including snippets of my novels, short stories, and fanfic. I also post about the writing and publishing process.
What I don't post: Drama, pictures of my private parts. Because that's private. And, ew.
