Misspent Youth, and Game Editing in General

Jun 18, 2008 13:01

I edited indie_insurgent's most excellent game, Misspent Youth. I like this editing thing. I am good at it.

I'm talking a full, hard edit -- not running it through a spelling and grammar check in Word. I edit a hundred times better than Word. I will fix far more than grammar and spelling, too. Your manuscript will come out the other end of my editing process and be shinier and happier. The text will make better sense. The tone will be more even. I will flag all sorts of problems, such as bad transitions and missing sections, with comments.

I want to make some money doing it for other indie publishers. I will edit 5 pages of your manuscript for free. If you like what I have done, we can talk price for the rest of the manuscript. Price depends on length, manuscript quality, and how cool I think your shit is. If it's a moderate length, the text won't require a million edits, and the project rocks my socks, I will be sinfully cheap.

Misspent Youth was 41 pages and, once I started working on it, I finished it in about four hours. Wrote all over the motherfucker, too. I prefer to work in Word, with change tracking turned on, but I'm flexible on that point.

You write games. I edit games. I also write games so I am clueful about design. We should talk.
