An actual post. May try to post more often at least to keep up with my riding and etc (as I want more of a record than the calendar that I eventually throw away).
I have one of the anthems we sung this morning stuck in my head. Very weird. Doesn't usually happen.
Church this morning was over 2 hours long! Longest ever, but the bishop was here, and we had a baptism, and confirmations, and receptions, and reaffirmations, so ALL THE THINGS!
Also, there was a bishop chair for the first time. Wonder where that came from.
Tonight there's a FASO concert. Our last one of the year. And since I'm the oncoming* FASO chair I 'get to' give a little speech for the outgoing one. Wish me luck, please.
Rode Zolar last night. Started to do just conditioning, but he was being an ass with the trot to the right, so I stayed on that for a while. Need to not stab him with the spur when he's an ass, just many many little circles.
He also leans on the rope when I'm grooming him, then will kind of wake up, and pull back, get panicked, then yank the shit out of the rope. He's gotten his regular lead stuck on the wall between it and the feeder. And it cannot be good for his neck. I'm thinking I'm going to use Tess' rope halter on him the next few weeks to maybe stop this. A breakaway would just teach him that pulling hard enough he could get free. And something elastic he'd probably just pull back until it is tight. I'm hoping the rope halter will make it uncomfortable enough he won't do it. +-maybe change to a part chain lead so he can't rest his chin on it.
We got actual RAIN night before last. Yay for us. First in several weeks. Still in a drought, but maybe there will be some pasture now.
*This happened while I was on vacation. I'm not averse to it, but it's kind of funny.
