Yay!

Finally tonight I had time to work with Manny.
I started with endotapping Elle - because she is soooo freaking jealous of him!

Manny was confused by the endotapping. 'Why are you beating me with a ball on a stick?!' lol He eventually got the gist of it. Although at the end he was a wee bit upset. Part of it was that he thought it was dinner time. Poor guy is still trying to adjust.

The really yay part was the tack fitting. He fit in Elle's halter. Didn't try James' old one because it was caked with dirt.

The western saddle didn't really fit. Well, maybe. I don't really know how to fit western saddles. And it's really an arab saddle. Also, I totally forgot how frelling heavy those things were!! OMG!

The dressage saddle seemed to fit okay. And, the girth FITS!! Wohoo! I suppose Manny isn't as stocky as I thought.

The last was the bridle. Since the rescue lady mentioned he may prefer a snaffle type bit to a curb, I tried on my old dressage bridle on him (it was James' first bridle, that I eventually converted to a double, then promptly stopped using when I decided we liked the Portugese bridle better). The bit fits exactly. And, after some adjusting, the bridle fit, too. Wheeeee!!!!

Then he was a happy camper when I took it all back off, and put him back in his stall.

Weirdly, he won't take carrots from my hand. He sniffs, then turns his nose up. I think he eats them when I put them in his food bin. I'll have to find out of it's from my hand, or the carrot as a treat that he's objecting to.

Night, all.
