General Plot Summary

Graciously taken (and slightly edited) from Katana, this is a general summary of what's happened so far in Ad Libitum since the game began.

For a while, most of the happenings in-game were player-driven plots and threads. New people were adjusting to this world, joining Ad Libitum, revisiting some drama with people from their original worlds, and the like. Meanwhile, Yuan, the leader of the starting area (Blessenwood) and the guild in general, seemed to know some things but wasn't eager to share. He has since left, as has one of his replacements (and a few other guild leaders), leaving Ad Libitum less stable. His replacements, Raine and Genis Sage, haven't been as knowledgeable on Yuan - despite having his notes - and with Raine's disappearance, Genis has been all but consumed by the paperwork and demands of Ad Libitum's job.

One of the player plots started to demand everyone's attention with the arrival of a Radiant Mythology 2 character named Goede. His arrival introduced negativity, a corrosive energy that could take over people or, as seen recently, destroy continents. The plot also introduced the guild Nox Palma, who're important but haven't acted since our Goede player left the game. The mods have also introduced a merchant group - Tyche's Alliance - that requests bodyguards from Ad Libitum. Every once in a while, its leader, Kadir, sells useful and/or important goods (along with some useless trinkets), so it might help to keep an eye out for him.

Onto mod plots: Firstly, until about a year ago, virtually every character was in Blessenwood, so a big meeting was had in which guild branches recruited and spread out the population of their members. More recently, there was another meeting in the form of a summer beach party turned disaster: Serpents attacked and heavily damaged meeting place in-question, a city called Port Merrium. The leader of its Ad Libitum chapter (Mao) was exiled, so in-game drama was sort of had, and he transferred to a place called Ouin. Sometime later, Polarica, another city with an Ad Libitum branch was destroyed, along with the entire continent, through negativity and has been off-limits since. Again, sadfacing ensued, and the leader of that former branch (Innes Lorenz) has requested a meeting back in Blessenwood.

Also, members have been forming parties to make alliances with the summon spirits. Only visits to the Earth Spirit (Jogah) and Fire Spirit (Taime) have been logged, but an upcoming trip to the water shrine is in the works. The Earth and Fire spirits have also tested (or will be testing) the parties that visit it.
