I didn't go to the New England Webcomics Weekend and I've been reading about how cool it was. Kinda bummed, but I would've gone alone (lame) and it would've cost a bunch to get to Mass. and back. Ah well, hopefully it'll be an annual deal.
Bought the fourth trade of Lucifer today and read it. I totally love how fucking dense this comic is, there are so many different layers that just keep going and going in the world(s) Mike Carey created.
Hüsker Dü has great lyrics.
Ship of Fools is still awesome. Love that book.
Ender's Shadow is just draaagggging. STOP TALKING ABOUT VENTS FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
Show's coming up:
Friday, 3/27: My friend Itay's hardcore band plus Killing It at some basement in New Brunswick.
Sunday, 3/29: Converge, Genghis Tron, Coliseum, Pulling Teeth and Ceremony in Philly. That show is going to be insane.
Wednesday, 4/1: Young Widows, The Austerity Program in Brooklyn. Love both bands.
I don't think I'm gonna see Les Claypool/Secret Chiefs 3 on 3/28. It's like 30 bucks and I've seen Claypool 3 times (once with Primus) and Secret Chiefs once.
Might see Bohren and Der Club of Gore and Attila Csihar on 4/3, we'll see.
Also, on the weekend of 4/11, Kaitlyn and her friend Charlotte are coming up and are going with my mom and I to see...
WAITING FOR GODOT, STARRING NATHAN LANE AND JOHN GOODMAN. SUPER excited.
Also going to see The Norman Conquests the week after which is 3 plays that all happen simultaneously in time. Each play is in a different area of this house, dining room, living room and kitchen. My mom and I are going to see all three in one day, so that's gonna be killer. I've watched the film version released in '78 so many times.
On Sunday, I went to a house 8-bit/electronic show in Trenton. I drove two of the guys performing Facundo and Steve (ChipHydra) and also brought P.J. and Awesome. Itay came too with two friends. I think there was 15 people at the show total, including all 5 acts. Facundo played first and we all dug it, but no one was really dancing because it was slightly awkward. But when Steve played next everyone danced. And then as each act went up, we got crazier. People crowd-surfed, got naked, did impromptu synchronized dancing and at one point we all started screaming in 4/4 like animals. It was one of the most fun shows I've ever been too.
CBC went well tonight, it's nice when Powerpoint doesn't fuck up. Justin is going to Alaska for like three weeks because he and his sketch team were commissioned to do a show about the history of Alaska. Everything's paid for and he gets a nice salary as well. What an awesome job!
