A year and 3 days after my last post...
A lot has changed over the past year. It doesn't seem like it was that long ago that I wrote in my LJ. A lot of things are the same, but a lot of things have changed. There were plenty of happy times and some bad times too. Our country now has a (kind of) black president. Michael Jackson died. Some good TV shows were cancelled (Scrubs, My Name Is Earl, Dirty Sexy Money, Pushing Dasies). The biggest changes have involved my family.
This past year is the worst I've ever seen the economy. My dad lost his job at O'Charley's on Halloween last year. It sucked. He worked for a company in Huntsville for a while, but that office shut down. My mom got a job at Wal-Mart (I'm over most of my issues with Wal-Mart now). In July, Daddy got a job with T.G.I. Friday's here in the Nashville area. I'm really loving that restaurant!
A 60-90 mile commute would not work for my dad so he and my mother decided to move to Smyrna. They sold the house that they lived in for almost 20 years. It was the house where I grew up. It was so weird walking around the house this past weekend, knowing that I would never go in there again. I will miss that house and the back yard. It is really cool having my parents so close now. My mom transfered to the Smyrna Wal-Mart.
Some things are still the same. I'm still dating Chris. :) I'm still at SouthComm. Tomorrow is my one year anniversary there. I'm still in the same apartment. I've killed a couple of tomato plants...
