I couldn't take it anymore and washed my hair last night. I even used shampoo for the first time in years! My dreads came apart easily. Ah, sweet conformity! :D

So here's my plan: I'm not going to wash my hair until I finish all my post-Burning Man cleanup. The playa caked into my hair will give me strength.

I will then most likely have to get all my hair shaved off. I already have dreads!

I really hoped that my first update for May would be one of those deep and meaningful posts that I keep thinking about writing (and then never do), but I really just want to express my sorrow about the fact that my hair care product line has been discontinued, and I am thus doomed to a future with sad, frizzy hair.

There is apparently a T-Mobile outage, which has disabled my precious, precious Sidekick, lifeline to the Internet! My SIM chip is also affected, so I have lost my contact list. Woe! Hopefully, it will be fixed soon.

Earlier today, I got the best haircut OF MY LIFE EVER. Thank you, emmiepie!

My mom was like: "What? I thought you were actually getting a haircut. You just barely trimmed it." WHATEVER! It is so awesome and looks great!

I'm just not sure if the "no shampoo" experiment has resulted in my hair becoming mo' bettah curly, or just dirty.

It sure feels dirty. :(

I washed my hair with shampoo this morning for the first time in four months. I felt like such a traitor to my Curly Girl regimen, but I want to forestall the resurgence of a scalp condition that I have had before, which seems to be coming back. My hair is now streaked with purple and red. Woo!

I absolutely love it and may not cut it off like I planned originally. My corporate lifestyle be damned! :)

So, I'm going on vacation tomorrow and will be back in a week. Try not to burn anything down while I'm gone and ... well, I may burn some stuff down while I'm gone. :)
