I'm a loser and I've kept my wedding stuff. And I don't mean things like my dress, cake topper, jewelry and a napkin or 10 - I consider those a given. Those items provide special memories and are happily stored away in a box. I mean all that other stuff.
My basement is an underground wedding store. I have wedding books, centerpieces, flower petals I never used or opened, ribbon, table number placeholders, candles, lanterns, candy buffet dishes, gabel boxes, bubbles and I'm sure more (there are too many boxes to go through). I am a wedding whore. I understand that I don't need any of that crap, but I just worked so hard acquiring all of it that it felt weird letting it all go.
I am slowly letting go though. Several months ago I sold my card box and program baskets. Yesterday I mailed Whitney my favorite wedding book - it helped me a lot and I know it will help her too. It felt really good to pass something down...something that had meaning to me that I can't use anymore.
I finally think I'm ready to sell my random goodies. Craigslist here I come.
