I have been harassed to come up with a Christmas list. After 3 weeks of asking, you'd think I'd have one, but no. I've been sitting at my desk all day debating about what I want. About 30 minutes ago I got clever - thank you Crate & Barrel and Bed Bath & Beyond for keeping registeries for a year. I basically just wrote down things we didn't get off our registery.
I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but gift registeries are a damn pain in the ass. It seems all nice and fun until after the wedding Then you realize you have to buy $300 worth of crystal wine glasses and $350 worth of flatware, etc., to have a complete set of anything. Because after all, what the fuck are you going to do with only 7 settings of flatware.
So Brent and I are going over Christmas lists tonight. I don't know how he will feel about asking for flatware from my grandparents and some of his family, but I really don't care. We are going 50/50 this year - half practical/half fun.
House stuff
I made a list of home improvements that I want done to the house - I'm going to be a busy girl. Having a house is the most awarding and annoying experience ever. I desparately need to paint the basement stairs and then buy a new stair runner; one day I promise not to avoid doing that...one day.
I am going to be able to cross one thing of my list though - I finally bought some
nightstands for the guest bedroom. They are a million times better than what we are using now and will look fabulous with the new chair.
I even went through some of the basement last night. There is now a walkway through all the wedding crap. I was rather proud of myself.
