Nearly there.

Broz picked up the tent and our bedding for Stargate this weekend.  I have had tremendous fun packing my new medical backpack, you can get loads in it!  However my surgical/autopsy kit has completely disappeared which is quite disturbing.  It's kinda important for an ME, ya know, scalpels and stuff.  I may take an emergency trip to town tomorrow and cobble something together for her.

I have got the pork for the puerco pebil, as promised.  the recipe calls for 5lbs of pork which is two decent sized joints I will be living off the stuff over the weekend.  At least this time I will remember the cumin... Just off in a mo to start the marinade...

Anyone been watching the 'Curse of Comedy' series in BBC4?  I missed last weeks, but this week on Tony Hancock was absolutely stunning.  Beautiful script, outstanding performances.

Finally, took delivery of 20kilos of thick black leather scraps got for £25 (inc P&P) from ebay.  About the same thickness as Darkblade uses.  None of the pieces are big enough for vambraces or greaves on their own, but a lapped, or scaled effect is very possible.  I am also going to use them for sword loops and basically to practice on.  I have no fear of screwing up because they are scraps, and they were cheap, so I can gradually learn about riveting and stitching and all that groovy stuff and then, if I have the time and I'm feeling brave, I can play with the big stuff. This will mostly be for me, as there are many very talented leather workers out there who are far better than I will be, and I think my main skills are in other directions, but it is something I would like to try.
