It is perfectly acceptable to use your hands when flipping crepes, especially when one is out of practice. If you can just get your spatula under the edge, which by the way, should look dry and cooked through, you can use your fingers to brace it and then flip the whole lot over.

[ he thinks about it for a minute, and tries it, giving a sharp and repeated 'ow-ow-ow-ow' while he turns it over. when he succeeds, he grins. ]

Cooking was always a difficult task for me as well.

Oh, well, not as difficult for me as it is just food being completely, completely stubborn. Honestly, it happens with omelettes too. [ now he's getting on a sort of ground level to look at the pan a little closer. ]

I much prefer my breakfast cereals but I must say that I have mastered the perfect scrambled egg.

Have you? [ he grins. ] You know, I've heard many a chef say that they go right back to cooking eggs if they lose inspiration. You might just make a good chef!

Oh, just fine! Learned to cook in 18th century France, had to learn without a fire extinguisher. That was a problem.
