It's Been Settled...

Man, I'm terribly behind on this thing. A lot has happened in the past couple of weeks.

A couple of weeks ago, I interviewed with AGI in Exton, PA. Much like the first time I interviewed with them out of college, everything went very well. I seemed to be well-received and the possibilities there sounded really interesting. The only issue was, there was no guarantee that they'd make me an offer or when it would come, and by this time I had only one day left to accept the offer for the job in Cali.

So long story short...I accepted the job for Sunnyvale, CA. I start in a couple of weeks. :)

Honestly, I have mixed feelings about this. Though I've surprisingly only been out here for about 11 months, I've made a lot of great friends that I'd rather not leave, bay_retriever especially. Yet...I feel this is something that needed to happen.

Sunnyvale is the HQ for all of Lockheed's space division, so I'm hoping that even if I don't stay with this new program for an extended period of time, I can still get exposure to other interesting projects. Additionally, classes for higher learning (aerospace engineering specifically) are offered on this campus, which means I'll probably start looking at a Master's degree down the road.

And though this is secondary to my career...food is something I've started taking really seriously. I'm always looking for new things to learn and striving to expose myself to different types of cuisine, and the bay area is a really good place to spread my wings in that regard.

All that aside, with my days numbered, I've been doing my best to keep busy:

- I flew back home a couple of weeks ago for a wedding reception for an old high school friend.

- I helped bay_retriever out with a race around the Baltimore harbor a couple of weeks ago. We won our class, though there were no other contenders. XD I plan to attend at least a couple of more races before I leave.

- I've been wakeboarding with my co-workers more and getting a lot better. I actually landed a few jumps yesterday without wiping out. :D

- Saturday afternoon, I met up with a couple of furs in the Centerville, VA to see their new townhouse, get some rather delicious and authentic Szechuan food for dinner, run a few miles, and watch movies.

- Earlier today, a couple of friends from Champaign came into town for a visit. I picked them up, grabbed lunch and we saw Inception. My brain still hurts...definitely need to see it again. X.x

Think that about catches us up to the present. Plenty more stuff to follow in my final two weeks on the east coast...here's to hoping they'll be memorable.

friends, life, career
