The Turkey Day madness is finally over, though my apartment still smells rather oddly of turkey and bacon *hee* and my fridge is full of enough leftovers to make
Hearty Turkey Soup with Parsley Dumplings and
Turkey Shepherd's Pie. I think I'll make those tomorrow afternoon while I do laundry. All the dishes are done and the apartment is clean and ready for....CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS!!! I couldn't wait to start until tomorrow so I switched out all my Fall candles for my Christmas collection tonight. I had no idea I had that many Yankee Candles. I found 24 assorted Christmas votives that I must have bought at some point in the last 12+ months. YAY! Tomorrow I want to dig out the tree that Anne left me and possibly get it set up and start trimming it. With the ornaments and garland I bought at Dollar General, because I'm classy like that. HEE!! No, they are actually pretty cute and oh, so much cheaper than the same amount at Target. I was very excited when Anne left me her tree and lights but had completely forgotten that I only own approximately 7 ornaments plus the star topper. Desperate times call for desperate measures and I refuse to put up a tree only to have it mostly bare.
I'm so tired right now that my eyes are watering, so I'll sign off now with my
Thanksgiving dinner pictures. Oh, that one of me on my fabulous hair day isn't exactly Thanksgiving, it's 2 weeks ago, but I was thankful for it turning out so well, so that counts! LOL!!
