A bunch of random crap

  • So, I'm still contemplating what to do or where to go for Yom Kippur. Two friends have suggested visiting their respective synagogues, which is nice and all but will be expensive considering the ticket I need to get from Peoria to Chicago and back on the Peoria Charter if I indeed take them up on this offer.
  • I've been writing lyrics for a song -- the first original song -- in Nōsō, my conlang. Its title (right now -- I'm sure it'll change if I make something more upbeat out of it later) is Āin për že, nī nāre, "I Can Without You". You know what would even be better? If I could actually compose music or sing to save my life (and trust me, I so can not), making this little project somewhat moot. But regardless ... ^^;;;;
  • I got all excited upon discovering that my MP3 player can -- without me ever having known -- correctly display MANY more languages than I thought it could. I got all excited testing it out and seeing my VERY few Armenian and Amharic songs displaying CORRECTLY on my player. I was all skippy and happy and bubbly and HAD to show nytemarewulf, who just stared at the screen, raised an eyebrow at me, and said, "... okay. And????" Sometimes it's LONELY being a linguaphile. ^^;;;;
