How authors feel about fan-fiction

Shakespeare wrote fanfiction so I'm in the clear. Anyway, the only writer whose opinion I'd care about is Dr. Seuss (I'd never write fanfiction of his work, but I should do a month of fanfiction where I mention him and his work), who is dead so he can't say anything.

Ever single cleaning thing (soap, laundry stuff, furniture cleaning, etc) kills 99.9% of bacteria, if I listen to commercials. Been that way all my life. They still can't get rid of that .1%. Should I be worried?
