Cutting the imminent series of Torchwood down to five-eps-five-nights-in-a-row is a cop out. And one great big storyline straddling it all? I've seen the first four or five episodes of Dollhouse and I'm liking it okay, except for the messing around with the order at the start. For those that are in the know, it's worth persisting with, right? I mean, they seemed to chuck out The Sarah Connor Chronicles in favour of it...

Last night, I learned that the RSPCA will not send someone out if there's an injured deer in the road - 'in case it gets up and runs off before we get there.'

Leaving dead livestock for the vultures
We don't have vultures here, but I feel like they need some really tight controls on this.
I don't want the birds to starve, obviously, but the idea of just leaving dead animals in fields? Hm. It seems like this policy could have some unforeseen consequences. We'll see.

Britain's Got Talent broadly has two types of contestant*. Talented, and deluded. ITV edit it as such. When they edited Susan Boyle**, they were doing it in hindsight. They set her up to look like a deluded person, then 'revealed' the astonishing talent.
