Projects - Projects - Projects!!!

And I'm sure you're saying... "What else is New?".  Well, I agree there's nothing really new about me doing projects or even writing about them.  But the new thing is... I'm going to concentrate on finishing projects.  I plan for projects all the time.  I collect items that will help with projects.  Those items get stacked up and stored  in places I think make sense at the time.  Other projects pop up that need immediate attention and the planned "Potential" projects get set to the side.  Once that happens, the odds of me getting back to them are pretty high.

OK, so I usually go through these "finishing fits" around the end of the Year when I have my Annual Holiday "Stay-cation".  It's the 2 weeks at the end of the year that I spend at home instead of putting myself through "Holiday Hell".  Or during the summers I start feeling the guilt.

And on May 29th, 2007 I spill the beans on myself about my non-finishing character flaw.

So what makes this time any different than any other time???  Well, I have decided to put the house on the market next year.  It's time.  to get out from under this house and it's mortgage, mortgage Rate, commute and sheer size.  It will never be what I want it to be - a ranch with a basement.  And it's just a lot bigger than I need.  I spend an enormous amount of time and money trying to maintain, clean, fix and update a house and yard.  So much so, that I do not get to enjoy it as I would like.

Where I would love to get out and hike or maybe play a round of golf, I stay home and mow the yard, fix the plumbing, stain the deck, repair the fence, trim the bushes, chase the moles, paint the hallway, clean out the garage... the list is endless.  Yes, I know that the dogs do a lot of the damage that I end up repairing or I do changes in the house that will make their lives a little easier.  I got a house with a large yard for them, but they are elderly now and really don't utilize the yard as they once did.  Now, a little smaller yard would be nice.  And now that I've owned a house, there are things that I will look for in the next one that I didn't think about the first time around.  Who knows, If I get the house ready, I may change my mind.

So I am starting to finish some major projects that have been waiting in the garage or on the list.

That is just the Main stuff.  That's not to mention all the work that needs to be done on The Camper or the back yard or the kitchen... or just the sheer deep cleaning and painting of the inside of the house.

So I just need to put my head down and start knocking these projects out one at a time.  I've been working on the office.  It's coming along.  It's tough because I need to keep the computers connected because I work from home occassionally.   But Rose gave me a deadline of August to have the Deck done (weather permitting) the DVD's ripped and the office done.  I'm hoping to have more done than that.  But You know how life is.  I'll try and be better about keeping track of what gets done too so you can follow the progress.

Gotta roll!  I'm on my fourth cup of coffee and I'm about to burst!!!!!

todos, projects
