I built some add on shelves to a book case. I don't want to pull the bookcases from upstairs.... I'll need them for the library / guest / sitting room. I started moving the movies back downstairs and I realized (I knew it was going to happen) that there was not enough shelf space for all of them. So I have been trying to think of solutions. And this was the quickest, cheapest one I could think of on short notice.
I know it's not pretty. Mainly the junk on the left. But it will work for the time being. The White bookcase... well, I added some shelves and got stupid and lazy. The little shelf in the middle should have ended up at the bottom... It wouldn't be so little then. I will go back and fix that. But I have cleared off 2 shelves of the book case from upstairs and put them down here. I just have a buttload more to bring down. I think I'm gonna go to the good will and see what they have there for book shelves... maybe I can find something a bit nicer for cheap.
I was also able to reprogram the harmony remote for downstairs as well. It works perfectly now. Push the button and everything works like it's supposed to. Imagine that. Here's the setup for down here... TV - DVD/VCR - AMP/Receiver - CD Player - Front Speakers & subwoofer - Back Wireless speakers.
The bottom shelf has a bunch of speakers... but they are left over and will be used upstairs in the living room later... (except for the subwoofer in the center). The Harmony remote is right there in front, on the right. The other 2 remotes are from left to right... remote super switch for lights and the other is for the rear wireless speakers. Also I had some leftover rope lights which are attached to the top and behind the TV. The switch for those is on the left side of the tv stand under the speaker.
It's a nice little area. Except for the dirty rug from the pooches wet muddy feet. But hey its a dog room too.
Hey if I find a nicer bookshelf I'll let you know.
