The problem I have is that my size is around a 10.5 and narrow. Once you hit size 10, the big shoe places I've shopped at don't have half sizes, and none of them carry narrow widths. My orthodics allow me to wear regular width sneaker/shoes, but they aren't cut to fit into flats or pumps, so I can't use them to cheat with dressy shoes. The pair I wound up getting are 10 medium, but for some reason they fit snugger than the other shoes I tried - there really is a lot of variation in fit among the manufacturers. But between DSW and Famous Footwear, I must have tried on 20 pairs of shoes before I found a pair that mostly fit. If I'd not waited until the weekend before the wedding, I probably could have found something better but I would have had to try a lot of stores to do it. This is why I hate shopping for shoes. :)

But I hear you-- I wear 9.5 wide, and finding wide-width is almost as much of a pain as finding narrow. I've resorted to stocking up once a year when my cousins and aunt and I do a Girl's Day Out and hit Birch Run.
