I just love the way people talk over here, so I thought I'd share with you some of the very Brittish things they say:
* "Cheers" -- goodbye
* "Love" as in "There ya are, Love" and "Good day, Love"
* "Boot" and "Bonnet" = Trunk and Hood of the car
* "Chips" (French fries)
* I think chips (like pringles) are called "crispies"
* "Windscreen" (windshield)
* "Aww Bloody Hell!!"
* "Proper" as in "If you want to get a proper kilt, go to Caledonia"
* "Car Park" (Parking lot)
* "Chip & Pin" (Debit card)
* "Trolley" (shopping cart)
* "double #" (01721 722894 would be 0-1-7-2-1 7-double 2-8-9-4)
* "Book Room" (Book store)
* "Chippy" -- a place that sells Fish and Chips
* "
Mushy peas" (Peas, mushed...its delicious)
More to come when i think of them.
