Scotland: Day 3: Peebles

Today we spent exploring the little town we're staying in . Its called Peebles. We walked along the Tweed River on the way into town. Its beautiful and theres a park on the opposite bank from us. We walked across the footbridge and through the park until we got to St. Andrew's tower (the ruins of St. Andrew's Church) and the surrounding graveyard. We stayed there for a while and read the gravestones. Then, we walked into town and looked at some of the more interesting looking shops. We tried to find a place that'd be able to fix my digital camera, but there wasn't one. So then we went to lunch. We went to "Big Eb's Chip Shop" and got Fish & Chips and some mushy peas....It was DELICIOUS. I swear I was supposed to be born either Brittish or Scottish. Then, we went and looked at a few places that sold kilts because my dad wanted to buy one. He ended up ordering one from this store called Caledonia. The owner, Stewart, was really nice and we ended up staying there for a couple of hours while he got my dad's measurements and priced it out. It should turn out pretty cool, but its really expensive. Like £350!! Then me and my mom went into this store called "Jumper" and we bought some sweaters. They're really pretty, and one of mine has sheep on it. Then, we looked around the local candy shop and went to the neighborhood book store, where I preordered Harry Potter 6!!! (I can get it at 7am on the 16th and it only costs £10 or $15!!!!)

After that we walked home along the other side of the river, and then I went online to look for digital cameras. My parents said that they'd buy me a new one as a really, really early Birthday present. It took forever, but we finally found an address for a store nearby that has several of the cameras that I'm interested in, so we're going there in the morning to check those out and hopefully get one so I won't have to keep taking pictures with my dad's. That being said, some of the pictures are behind the cut (with captions, of course).
