Hi everyone! Yes, I am alive and yes, I did survive the trip. Though, I have to say, I think I may actually be conquering my plane phobia thing. Considering my love of travel, this could be deemed a major accomplishment ( Read more... )

Well, hello sexy girl!

Any Bostony stuff would be really helpful. He's definitely wandering around by himself with only vague ideas about where to go and what to do. Thanks alot :-)

Okay, I totally forgot this, hehe.
Well if he wants a good tour of Boston, he should do a "Duck Tour". It is in one of those "vehicles" that drives you around on land, and then it drives into the water and becomes a "boat" and gives like a harbor tour.

Beacon Hill has some interesting walking tours of various famous homes if he isn't into that sort of history stuff.

There is the Cheers Bar which seems to be popular among tourists.

Hmmm, I'm having a hard time coming up with solo stuff to do :(

Hey! You're not dead! That's good!

Your friend stopping through Vancouver, BC or Vancouver, WA? Vancouver BC is awesome and wonderful and I can suggest things - Vancouver WA... I guess has a train station...?

As for Portland, it's a fun city, there's stuff to do. off the top of my head: Powell's! Best bookstore ever! It's in a pretty neat neighborhood for hanging out/people watching etc. and I think it's walking distance from the trainstation, or close. Looks like there's a walking map with some other good stuff to see on their site. ...I'll think about it more.

Thank you for the tip! Seriously, he absolutely loves secondhand bookstores and I will pass your tip along. And it's funny...not too long ago you were both reading Graham Greene.

Sorry for vagueness...he's going to Canada, so feel free to suggest away. Obviously, when he mentioned traveling around the NW I thought of you. Thanks for the help :-)
