Sick

One of the things I like most about being me. About bein' the First Evil. It is not gettin' sick. Not havin' colds or flu's. Not havin' any health problems at all. For unlike man, who is weak and so very mortal. I do not age. And I can't die. I am beyond such human weaknesses. Beyond such human sufferin'.

Given all the eons I've been around. I've seen sickness. I've seen such unimaginable hardship. I've come to the general conclusion that to live is to suffer. To live is to get sick. Like death and taxes, sickness is part of bein' human. Some guys and gals are more fortunate than others. Yet in time all must suffer. It is the way of nature.

But what is sickness. Is it some big bad monster out to hurt and maim. Or is some microscopic bug, mindless, and uncaring of whom is infects. Sickness is not bad or evil. Sickness is natural. It is a normal part of everyday life. However, mankind fears sickness. Just as he fears countless other things beyond his control. But man is also very foolish. They think themselves greater than even the big man upstairs. They believe they can end all sickness. End all illness and disease. Even thinkin' they will some day defeat death itself.

Humans have such big dreams of a world free of misery and death. Yet the dreams of such a Utopian paradise has shown itself to be quite elusive. Cures for many illnesses and diseases have remained beyond the scope of modern science.

Will humans ever find the cure to end all sickness. Such an answer is beyond my knowledge. And even if nobody did get sick. What kind of world would that be? Are humans capable of livin' in such a world? Or would they choose destruction and death over peace and love? Given humanities flawed nature. Given it's long history of war and conflict. I am uncertain if they will ever rise above their tragic flaws. Uncertain if man will ever achieve their full potential. Will ever overcome sickness. Hate. Or the darkness that dwells in so many human souls.
