Tomb Sweeping Day!

Yesterday was Tomb Sweeping Day, a national holiday where families visit the grave sights of old family members, and pay their respect to those that they have lost. Since we had no school or work on Wednesday, we hit up 9% for Jordan's party on Tuesday night! It was an awesome, awesome night. We met a bunch of DJs, who will also be performing in Kenting this weekend. It was all Hip Hop music which was a nice change from the techno/house that we always listen to here!
I met so many new people, and ran into some of the boys from my old hostel! I also got some DJ lessons from Jordan's brother Scott. It was so refreshing to meet new friends...I am once again hopeful about the quality of boys in Taipei! After the club closed down, Simon, Jordy, the girls and I headed over to the Croc house. The Croc house is to Taipei, what Gabe's house was to Victoria. It is a huge house, overlooking the Taipei Domestic Airport. They have the most amazing patio, with a view of the mountains and the airport. We smoked and watched the sunrise on the couch. It was a great way to end the night!

I slept for most of the day on Wednesday. I love, love, love my new bed! It is getting so freaking hot in Taipei. It's funny, cuz just last week, people were buzzing around on their scooters with ponchos and umbrellas. On Wednesday night, Scott and Jordan invited us back to the Croc house for a BBQ. It was so nice to cook and be in a normal house. Before dinner, Scott gave me some more lessons on the turn tables...it would be awesome if I could learn how to mix Trance and House. After the BBQ, we looked at Scott's pics from Nepal. Last year, Scott moved to Nepal to work on a refugee camp. He had to leave the country though, because it became too dangerous for foreigners to stay there, esp with the Civil Wat escalating. They were really powerful images...I was definitely holding back the tears.

I am so so excited for Kenting. Now, I just need to find a sub to take my place on Friday and we will be good to go!
