St. Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day, everyone! As a typical American mutt I do happen to have some Irish blood on my father's side though I don't feel particularly connected to that culture. Apparently my great great...great grandfather Dally was an Irishman who fought in the Civil War and was imprisoned at Andersonville for a time. We still have transcriptions of the diary he kept there and the original has been donated to a museum somewhere. *tangent*
Anyway, hail to all you half-Irish mutts and all you true and stout fightin' Irish out there! I raise my glass to ye.
Last night at McCarthy's I drank four (fucking stiff) whiskey-cokes and felt pretty buzzed by the time I hit the sack. Woke up feeling suprisingly good this morning, considering. Thanks, grandpa Dally!
Driving around town on my lunch break was entertaining. Not only is it St. Patty's Day, it's the end of finals week at Cal Poly. I was astounded at the amount of openly drunk people wearing green and stumbling around downtown in the middle of the day. Couldn't help but grin and laugh. I remember that. :)
