Why yes, I did steal this Year in Fandom meme from
flying_girl73. That's just how I roll.
Your main fandom of the year?
Probably Doctor Who. Matt Smith is teh awesome.
Your favourite film watched this year?
How to Train Your Dragon. Yes, it's a kid's movie. I don't care. It was charming and I want a dragon.
Your favourite book read this year?
It was actually a kind of disappointing year in books for me. Coming up with my annual top list is going to be interesting this year. Let's see... what was good? I enjoyed Barb Hendee's Memories of Envy, as well as Carrie Lofty's Song of Seduction. Oh, and Ann Aguirre's Shady Lady was amazing.
Your favourite album or song to listen to this year?
I discovered Cobra Starship this year. LOVE them. Catchy, intelligent, with a sense of humour.
Your favourite TV show of the year?
Hmm. Well, this is the year I finally got into Doctor Who. Eleventh doctor is clearly "my" doctor. Of course, there's also Chuck... oh, who am I kidding? I only watched those two shows regularly. Yeah, let's just call it a tie.
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
BBC's Robin Hood. Well, the first two seasons, anyway. It's just the right amount of camp to be fun and I'm not sure why I didn't get into this show far, far earlier.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
You know, I can't think of anything heart-breaking from fandoms this year, so yaay!
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
Oh, Richard Armitage. Nobody broods like you do.
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Probably Karen Gillan. We likes the redheads. Especially when they're pretty and flirty and funny.
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
Hmm. I'm pretty gleeful about a third Narnia movie. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader was my favourite book of the series when I was a kid, so yeah, special place in my heart for movie #3. And, uh, more Ben Barnes is not a bad thing either.
The most missed of your old fandoms?
I've been a bit nostalgic for KotOR lately. I should dust off my copy and play through sometime soon.
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
I keep meaning to check out BBC's Merlin, but haven't managed it yet. It's just showed up as streamable on Netflix, though, so it's only a matter of time now.
