I'm about this close to being Internet obnoxiousness personified by starting to comment on every entry that uses the fake cut wrong. If you don't know what a cut is? You might not want to attempt a fake cut.

And FYI, a fake cut does not equal a link.

( This? This is a fake cut. )

This is not.

(Nor is this.)

( Or even this. )

Well, it took ( Read more... )

um...not that I ever use them really...but I always thought a 'fake cut' was when you make it look like a lj-cut but it's actually a link back to a entry in your own journal, like when you post links to icons on a com.

So what IS a fake cut?

A fake cut is exactly as you described, but people are absolute idiots about it. They make a link saying "fake cut to my journal", but it's just a regular link, one that doesn't look at all like an LJ cut. It's such a petty thing to get annoyed by, but it just frustrates the hell out of me. Probably because it just makes them look like posers who want to do what all the cool kids are doing.

And to top it all off, I do not understand the point of fake cuts in the first place. Just bold your link if you want it to be more visible!

Something that annoys me...tangentally...is that when people do that on fic coms and don't make it clear it's a link not a cut, it looks like the fic has no comments at all, and so I tend to skip it.

Stupid little thing...but it bothers me ;)

That I completely understand. I think the solution is to just not make fake cuts. They're soooo last season. ;-)

Maybe we saw the same entries, because this is ire left over from days ago. I think the problem I have with the wrongly labeled fake cuts is that they make the posters look stupid and ignorant. I'm embarrassed for them.

I'm not a big fan of Jeffrey's esthetics, but I can recognize that he's good at what he does. If he only stopped being such a freaking cry-baby about it I'd be more okay with his asshole-ish tendencies. I never thought I'd think of Santino favorably in that regard, but at least he was arrogant, not whiny. And I also find it funny that Jeffrey would probably HATE being thought of as whiny. And that's why I'm going to keep thinking of him that way. *g*

I'm hoping Kayne's bottom placements for the past few weeks will get him to really take a good look at his design esthetic. That said, I don't think he deserved to go home, even if it was tacky as hell, because that outfit was so him.

Exactly. As I said in my LJ, at least it shows he has a "point of view," unlike someone else we could mention, oh, I don't know....VINCENT.

I almost quoted you, but I didn't know if Teija would know who you were. =)

I think Kayne even had more of a point of view than Angela, because I don't think that was really her point of view, more like her idea of what her point of view would be if she were a jetsetter (HA!).

Vincent needed to go home the second week. WHY IS HE STILL THERE? It's not like we need him to hate on - we've got Jeffrey. And at least the hate there isn't both personality-based and design-based.

I really need a PR icon.

OH, where did you find the Everwood? I tried to dl there earlier, but couldn't find it.

I found all the seasons through a search at isoHunt. Two of the torrents were freely available (seasons 3 & 4), but the other two were at TV Torrents, which requires you to seed before you can download. So you have to register, find a torrent that you can download on an open site (or a torrent that you already have on your computer) and then seed that until you've got some credits. By the way, if you're already a member at TV Torrents, they've got all four seasons there.

Augh, where is PR? It hasn't showed up on mininova yet, as far as I can tell.

Sure it has. Right here.

Argh, for some reason it wasn't coming up when I searched for "Project Runway." But after I read your post saying it was out, I ended up searching isoHunt, which had it, but wouldn't start it in Azureus for some annoying reason. Then I had to go to eztv directly to get the torrent to start up. I shall have it eventually, but I wanted to start it when I got up at 7, so I'd be able to watch it right away! Thanks for your help, I still don't get why it wasn't coming up in Mininova when I searched for the show title. Strange.

The search function doesn't always update with the newest torrents. I discovered that earlier this summer when I searched for Daily Shows. I always go straight to the source.

Have you not watched Everwood before? Or are you just adding to the collection?

Either way, enjoy. :D

Is Kristen's episode in season 2? They really need to release them on dvd, sadly there are no plans to.

I haven't watched it except for one episode on Swedish TV. I wasn't too impressed, and I didn't think it was my kind of show (a little too wholesome for my taste). I did watch a few episodes last night and enjoyed them even if I still don't think it's quite my type of show. But it's infinitely better (quality-wise) than The O.C. and OTH, both of which I've watched.

Since I haven't watched I'm not sure what you're talking about. I'm assuming you mean that KB is on Everwood at some point?

Yes, she is. Episode 2 of season 2, I just checked. Sadly I didn't really know Kristen when she was on there, I remember her character vaguely...

The show is wholesome, good choice of word to describe it, but I really do love it. It's by far much better than The OC or OTH.

Let me know what you think once you've seen more. :)

Cool! So that's a year before VM started? I haven't seen her in anything else that I can recall, so that will be interesting.

I think the show has a bit of quirkiness, which can save it for me, it reminds me a lot of Northern Exposure in that way. A really really wholesome version of Northern Exposure. Which wasn't exactly raunchy to start with. =)
