SMeyer - just, why?

This is by no means a review - even if I did have the time it's not worth the effort. I guess this is my reaction post after about 4 days of stewing over it all. But I keep answering my flist with comments on their posts and I just feel like I should get it out there you know? *sigh* Anyway, it's all behind the cut although at this point anything ( Read more... )

I added you awhile ago when looking for people that had more similar interests...and you had the black dagger brotherhood listed as an interest, Twilight was just an added bonus ( ... )

Well thanks for the add back! It's always nice to meet new people and in the last month I've made a real effort to find new faces to add to the friends list, I really needed to diversify.

Aren't all fandoms a bit batshit in some way, shape or form!?! I've heard that the Twilight fandom is particularly batshit but then I think it's the cool thing to hate on right now so I've pretty much taken that with a grain of salt. I've just found that what I find really interesting is the people who enjoy things (or not in this instance ;) )and then discuss them in their LJ. I am like you that I completely enjoy debating and reading other people's views on something, it can give me a different perspective and that's just cool. The thing about fandom, for me, is that when I'm totally neck deep in it...it's not that I'm being so much as swayed by the crowd but the hive mind totally starts to take effect. I often have to take a mental step back and find out what I really feel about something because it's just so easy to get caught up ( ... )

Your very welcome and I am happy I did. I didn't have a whole lot of time but I did just check out your lj a bit and we are about the same age and stuff - so it all works out.

Yes - fandom is batshit as a general rule. But some much more than others. Some are very nice and friendly and just lovely places, some are pretty enjoyable in smaller doses, adn then some should be avoided at absolutely all costs. I have only ever been in one fandom 'neck deep' and it almost killed my fangirl spirit. Lessons were learned and now I find that this lj way of life works best for me. I can talk about anything or nothing and if someone has something to add or comment, they can. Same with me ( ... )

I just read your review of Eclipse, that was a good post!! Maybe part of the problem with BD is that there was three books of build and then the last book had way too much crammed into it. It would have been nice if there had been more time taken with Bella's transformation and how that effected her and Edwards relationship and then subsequently her relationship to all of the Cullens. I would have liked for this book to be at least two stand alone books. Because I am so new to all of this I don't know if there is a specific reason that S. Meyer only did four books, it just seems a little odd seeings how the last one seems so rushed.

Okay, I'm going to stop yammering all over your LJ now.

Thanks. Yeah, that was what I was like when I was only a few months out from marathoning the first 2 books and was insanely in love with the series ( ... )
