catching up...again.

Hey, look at this! Isn't that great? Once it's completed, I'll try to go. It reminds me a great deal of the circular clocks of Egypt and South America, not to mention the beautiful stella clock of the Girsu. I could ramble about why it does, but I learned a while back that nobody cares, so I'll spare you. (Hint: there's a connection! Read up on it sometime.)

Alrighty, now down to this tagging business-

from ichigo_neko and some others of you. Jakob and Audrey maybe?-

Rules: Things you enjoy, even when no one around you wants to go out and play. What lowers your stress/blood pressure/anxiety level? Make a list, post it to your journal... and then tag 5 friends and ask them to post it to theirs.

My tagee's? Whoever wants to do it.

And from splitpea, who asked nicely. :p

List your current six favorite songs, then choose six others who have to do the same.

1.) Mothra's Song- The Peanuts
It sounds like an ancient hymn, and this is supposedly because the first verse was written by an anonymous scholar of ancient Polynesian tongues. It's hypnotizing, beautiful, and flawless.

2.) Papamama ~Nozomare nu Baby~ - Miyavi
The music of this song is fantastic. It's an indescribable mix of a sped up funeral march, hair metal, and alternapop. Like I said, indescribable. Aside from all that, the song is obviously heartfelt, well-performed, and emotionally relateable. While most of Miyavi's music seems sincere, this song almost feels like it's coming from a place he hasn't explored in his music before, and it's that much more enjoyable for it.

3.) Stein um Stein- Rammstein
All of Rammstein's music has always been consistently impressive for how detailed their instrumental compositions are, how intricately their harmonies are carried out, and how well they obviously understand music theory. This song is not only all of that, but like the song I mentioned before this, it's clearly coming from a whole other level this band has never shown us before. It's sincere, relateable, and beautiful.

4.) Oleada- Julieta Venegas
Julieta's voice is beautiful, and her lyrics are always extremely well-written. This song has more of a campo feel compared to the rest of her cd, but oddly enough I think that really adds to the song's emotions. I guess one reason I like this song so much is because most of the time I feel exactly the same way.

5.) Cain- Tiamat
This song will probably always make a favorite song list by me, whether current or otherwise. Perfect, perfect, perfect. Edlund's voice is to die for, the music captures the atmosphere of the song's setting beautifully, it's historically informed and accurate, it's a well-carried metaphor, and I just love it.

6.) Major Tom- David Bowie
Just the name of this artist speaks for himself, doesn't it? I'll just say 'ditto' for all of the strengths I mentioned, minus the sincerity. You know, because...he hasn't been an astronaut. xD

I also tag whoever wants to do this one.

Well, I'm off to bellydancing. That is, if it's not been cancelled because of the weather.
