new orleans needs help because they have an idiot gov and mayor who don't know how to run the city of New Orleans and because they didn't start telling people to get out until the morning before. Thats there own damn fault and its their fault that they're flooded. Northern states gave them hundreds of thousands of dollars in the past few years to build the levy's stronger and did they use the money to do that?? NOPE. They had the money to protect themselves from this type of flooding and they chose not to use it. And this is what happens ( ... )

=) And if you feel like helping out in anyway I can give you the address of where my friend from New Orleans is staying..shes in mississippi right now and lost everything. She could use help, a wal-mart gift card...a gift card for some clothes...a check..anything really. So if anyone wants to help let me know and I'll give an address to send something. Shes got nothing but a bag of clothes. She lost her car, her apartment, everything inside her apartment..

Actually, I was giving no arguement. MY THOUGHTS...and my facts are valid and some of what I said was straight from a NO person's mouth "our mayor had to wait for the governor to okay the federal government to act"...thanks ( ... )

It is a declaration of emergency preparedness sent to the federal government by your so called inept state officials, which just so happened to be dated the 28th. They consistently warned individuals from that day on.

This is not news. This is straight facts. I'm not working off of word of mouth, it's an actual state issue release.

I'm sorry your friends lost everything, but don't lay blame where it shouldn't be laid. There is a much more responsible party that just so happened to be on vaction.

lol. alright. for the record...i don't care much for bush but if you get your facts straight he sent out the emergency warning WAY before anyone else in the state of LA did. TO be precise, He addressed it two days before disaster relief was requested by the state. Oh but wait, he can't be competant while not in the white house right? haha...Thats like saying a person can't be competant working from home instead of in their office.

I'm done too... I actually had no intention to respond back to you but I figured one more wouldn't hurt.

By the way, I'm done with this. I wouldn't want my inbox filled with pointless arguing, and I expect she doesn't want this either.

You can rationalize the federal government's ridiculously slow response any way you like. However, keep in mind that a state government that has been severely hamstrung by the aforementioned government will be hard-pressed to do everything themselves.
