I am a bookaholic. It is impossible for me to go into barnes and noble and NOT buy anything. I think since being hoem from school I have bought about 25 books....eek.
At least i read them. And I am building an impressive library. And I am expanding what i read....
I made a new rule for myself this summer. For every three "fun" books I read (mainly sci-fi, romance, whatever my heart desires) I must read one work that is considered a "classic." Mainly, this is so I will actually read those books so when i yell at my future students to do so, I can make recommendations, etc. And besides, I feel stupid for never having read ANY Jane Austen, or Bronte, or Eliot, or Woolf...
I already read Silas Marner by George Eliot and was very impressed. Very good, so i picked up three more by Eliot the other day.
And I am currently reading Pride and Prejudice by Austen, as I never have and I feel completely stupid for not having read it before. I am in love with it.
My next fun book with be Beauty by McKinley, followed by The Book Thief which I am really anxious to read. It has been really hyped up and Janet at B & N recommended it to me when i came in a couple weeks ago. (FYI: Janet works at the local B & N and recommends books for me every time i come in and she sees me. :) Yes, I am that much of a book nut).
Anyway, this post was almost completely pointless. Off to shower...
