Goth Fantasy
Procrastination manifests itself in strange ways, and tonight my apartment is cleaner than it's ever been. I also managed to somehow pour gasoline over my Helena Bonham Carter flame, and spent the last few hours being obsessive over her again--something I haven't done since last summer around Harry Potter time. Celebrity fantasy relationships are so easy to have, and so much fun. Maybe I will even have time to finish some of my in-demand Harry Potter fanfics again soon. . . .
I don't know what it is about this woman that is so addictive, but it's there. I also know I'm not the only one with a Helena fetish. She's basically a perfect representation of the dark, strange, and seductive--everything that gets me. Like milk and cookies, Helena goes well with Evanescence songs, corsets, trippy Tim Burton movies, and all-things-weird. I suppose this is why people make fan-videos on youtube; she's become the poster girl for goth-esque strangeness--and she's wicked-sexy.
Now, I'll admit I have an evil fetish. I always dig the baddies, and Helena has to be my favourite. Of course she's an amazing Bellatrix in the Harry Potters, but I remember being in love with her as the creepy pirate-witch in Big Fish and as the looney Mrs. Lovett in Sweeney Todd. If there's a "nutter" roll to be played, she's no doubt one of the best. She plays rock-bottom druggies pretty well too... Marla Singer is pretty much my hero.
Apart from being in love with her, I also want to be her. I totally want a pile of frazzled curls and the ability to pull off even the weirdest outfits. And to be in Tim Burton movies/ work with Johnny Depp, who wouldn't?? Basically, she's awesome. She even has her own "clothing line" for capri-style pants called "pantaloonies". <3
I have always had little obsessions for celebrities, but this one really hasn't gone away. I've totally relapsed, and now I'm desperately craving more Helena. Regretfully, I've been a bad fan, and I haven't yet seen The King's Speech. It is at our cheap theatre right now, but it couldn't be a worse time to try to go to a movie. Still, I plan on catching up this summer, especially with the last HP only months away. I was totally fangirling over new pics I found on the internet, so new movies = pure bliss!
For those inticed, I just found a few photo jackpots:
