Because college football is on hiatus until the bowl games start on Dec. 19 (a bit early, no?), I thought maybe everyone was missing any sort of Husker ramble from me.
Well, fear no more. Last night, ESPN ran a special on the top college football programs of all time. It was a TV special tracked by this online bracket (
http://sports.espn.go.com/chat/sportsnation/alltimeNCF/bracket). For all you naysayers out there, according to ESPN, the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers are the best NCAA football team of all time. And just in case you might think it's a fluke, the 1971 squad came in at #2. The '83 team was also nominated, but was knocked out by the '95 squad a couple rounds in. If you have to be eliminated, I guess it's best to have it be by a future version of yourself. Or something.
Anyway. GO BIG RED!
