I got the best mail today at work.
One of the guys at Warner Bros. Records happens to love AP and all its employees. Therefore, he's been very welcoming and funny every time I've interacted with him about any of the bands he works with. His office is also on Avenue of the Americas in NYC. Right next door to Nonesuch, which happens to be Wilco's record label.
In the introduction e-mail that about 800 industry people received about me, it mentioned that I am a Wilco fan. He remembered this fact, and decided to saunter next door and pick me up The Wilco Book and not one but TWO Wilco t-shirts. For no reason at all except that he knew it would make me happy.
Not only was I really delighted to get some great Wilco merch, it was also a needed reminder that there are plenty of nice people still around. Sometimes it gets hard to remember that between listening to the news and dealing with disgruntled furniture store employees and watching (with horror) when you, yourself, says or does something that is out of character as far as being pleasant goes.

Side note: My apartment is pretty much all set up. I need a rug and some curtains and some more things on my walls, etc. but all the furniture is here and assembled. Will try to post some pics soon.
