toilet humor

I went to my first Warped Tour yesterday. I had to go for work--walk around, check out the bands, check out the crowd responses...see who the "break out" bands were, etc.

I'm not gonna lie, I had very little to no familiarity with most of the bands' music. The band who played the most songs that I knew was Less Than Jake. And that's probably because I saw them in concert back in 1998.

Anyway, having just returned from Lollapalloza last weekend, I can say without a doubt that it was by far the most bands I've ever seen in this concentrated amount of time. And while I felt Lollapalooza was superior in almost every way (mostly because it was my kind of music), there is one area where Warped had Lolla beat, hands down:

Rest rooms.

The Tower City Amphitheater location in Cleveland had real facilities. With running water. And while the rows and rows of blue porta-potties foster a since of...um...something, having a real restroom would have improved the Lolla experience (although, only just slightly, as it was still amazing).

So, Perry, let's get going on this, OK? If you're going to take permanent residence at Grant Park, perhaps you could donate the money for some posh privies. I'm sure everyone at the Taste would thank you, too.
