Some things I thought I might bring to your attention this morning.

1. Despite a week of sun (freezing! but sun) and a couple of days of scattered showers there is still no fresh green anywhere. Everything is yellow/brown from being squashed under snow. It is a tad distressing, but the more common emotion is a wee ripple of fear that the apocalypse came and no-one told us and there's gonna be no spring growth ( Read more... )

I guess I got stuck on the money thing. I'm glad that most of everything is going well for you then.

Oh yes well. One is incredibly skint... in fact I was saying only on Friday, one is so far past skint one can't even see it following on behind when one uses high powered binoculars. But having had virtually no income for over a year... one has got used to it.

Denial is a beautiful place to live. Especially when re-decorated in head-burying colours. Come over to the dark side, we have cookies etc.

1: You didn't get the memo? There was a memo. It said... something abotu Apocalypses. Or maybe Alcopops. Just skimmed it.

2: Yay! *awards green star for bravery in front of the tree*

3: Money. And Libraries. We shall ignore the form stuff.

4: She's doing a good job at keeping the Ghosts away, I recon.

They don't make you fill in a form in the Job Centre these days - or at least, the English lot don't. (Have you gone north of Hadrian's Wall?) You do it over the phone, and then they arrange an interview for you in person. 'tis all very tedious and aggravating...

Enjoy the library trip!

I discovered this. After the walk. They gave me a photocopied piece of paper and sent me home again. Lovely.

I guess you missed my lengthy rant about this very topic a few weeks ago, when I did exactly the same thing - turned up in person to be sent away and made to ring the DWP?

I think I began to remember something like that as the kind gentleman behind the counter began to fold the piece of paper. There were vague rumblings at the back of my mind that clarified into a crystal clarification as I realised I had traipsed 3 miles for nothing.

Then there was internal swearing.

The North Atlantic Turny thing broken? It's a posibility. No more gulf stream etc.

(At least you can run in the rain, eh?)

I don't have to like it, though. (Also, I ran in sunshine this morning. It was very beautiful. The gulf stream may have a few years still.)

Huzzah for running in the rain! I slept in due to walking all over town yesterday (must get more fit!) and am thus in lazy mode and very awed by running.
