One Day
September 21, 1995 - Airport
Today was his first time stepping his foot in Korea since he was born in San Francisco, USA. He and his grandmother are sitting on one of the chairs in the airport while his mother is waiting in the line for their bags, he was quietly watching people walked passed by him. A certain boy caught Kibum’s eyes. The said boy was jumping in front of his father as he talked animatedly and his father whole heartedly laughs at his son. The boy’s mother, who was sitting beside them listen curiously to the said boy while fixing the jacket of his other son about Kibum’s age. The pretty boy on his mother’s lap giggled at his hyung’s jokes.
Kibum didn’t like the smiles on their faces. He turned to his grandmother and asked “Halmoni, where is Appa? Why he’s not with us?”
Kibum’s grandmother looked at him with a sad face and softly said “Let’s just say he went to a very long vacation, Kibummie”
