He stood at the edge of the high cliff; petals of roses in a mixture of crimson, cherry and ivory left his hand, touching cobalt blue with splashes of rainbow. Deep inside, he prayed for the dearly departed. Thanking him for his companion, for his advice, for his friendship. For everything else, and so much more...
“Who is he?”
YunHo gave a small smile at the curiosity etched on JaeJoong’s expression, clear for others to see. Sometimes he wondered why he had to think so hard for reasons to explain his love for the other boy.
“It’s someone...” He started, watching the various shades of red float against china blue.
“Someone who led a sad life and wished I wouldn’t follow in his footsteps.” He felt a sudden wave of melancholy swept over him even at the remembrance. “Someone who understood how love could be equally painful as it is sweet... Someone who gave so much to life but got nothing in return. Someone...”
He almost choked at the thought.
“Someone who loved too deep, and got himself broken as an aftermath.”
He felt JaeJoong tightening their intertwined hands.
“Someone who knew me well enough to tell me I should cherish you more... To love you more...”
The black-head ruffled his boyfriend’s hair lovingly when he was given a surprised look. He put an arm around the other’s shoulder, bringing him even closer.
“He’s a great friend.”
YunHo heaved a slight sigh, looking faraway into the ocean that was bathed in the orange glow of the setting sun.
“He must be touched to see you loving him like this...” He heard JaeJoong whisper quietly by his side and YunHo only smiled. He tilted his head, looking intently at the wide span of azure with scarlet hue, wishing his departed friend could hear his whisper.
I’ll fight for him, JaeJoong... I promise. And I’ll love life for you too.
“JaeJoong-ah...
“Mhmm?”
“I love you...”
JaeJoong sighed; a smile emerged at the corner of his rosy lips, adorning his lightly tanned face with a hint of saccharine-sweet.
“Me too.”

A/N: It could have ended at the previous chapter, but I wanted to write this part to give it a nice closure (which explains the shortness of this chapter). ^^ First and foremost, thank you for reading W&P and bearing with me for close to ten full-length chapters. I stretched all the limits I was given when I wrote this in 2005 (this was written for a Summer-fic contest @ In:Com) and it wasn't a smooth-sailing ride - but I learnt a lot from it.
Nonetheless, I'm glad you lot who read this so far had been enjoying it. This is the longest fiction (or anything, really) I've ever written in my whole life. Those who are familiar with my works know I'm a one-shot writer. I'm not sure if I'd ever write anything like this ever again, but I'd love to if I have the chance. ^^v
