Philip and I went to see Morrissey tonight at the Roundhouse. It was okay. I can't say much for the new songs, but 'Why Don't You Find Out for Yourself' sounded particularly lovely. Just a quick note that Britta Phillips is an indie rock goddess. Not that she and Dean Wareham make 'indie rock' so much anymore. But still. Not only is she beautiful and talented, her makeup tonight was flawless: in particular, she went with a neutral lip colour so as not to distract from her eyes, which were decked out in false lashes. This was my second Thursday night in as many at Shepherd's Bush Empire, but the atmosphere this week was a bit different to last. Basically, this night has been great because I arrived home from Moscow, dropped my bags off at my flat, and took the Tube back across town to Shepherd's Bush to see Spiritualized play the Empire. Great and a bit surreal, I guess.
