Those looking for a touching, yet supremely intelligent film could certainly do worse than The Lives of Others. Surely one of the best movies I'll see this year, and that I had just read this article on the torture tactics of 24 made it all the more resonant.

Nothing shocking here.

Yesterday, I saw Marie Antoinette with Dawson. I spent a lot of time thinking and talking about the film afterward (my friends might say ad nauseum), and it's probably not worth recapitulating those opinions. I'll just say I enjoyed it, and leave it at that.

Last night, after finishing reading The Stranger, I watched I <3 Huckabees.
If you didn't know any better, you might think I was an angsty art-school teen who'd recently declared himself a postmodern existentialist. But, no, I went to FSU, which, as was recently reported, is phasing out its academic programs. So, I guess that speaks to that.
