Winter is on my head, but eternal spring is in my heart. ~ Victor Hugo

I’ll be juggling/recording/watching several favorite TV shows tonight at 9 pm. Criminals Minds, Law & Order: SVU and the season premiere of Ghost Hunters with their 100th episode: Live at Alcatraz. OMG, FBI, SVU and TAPS. ‘Tis a good evening for viewing. Enjoyed The Good Wife last night, and looking forward to The Office’s arrival of Jim and Pam’s baby tomorrow night. *blinks and directs fixated stare from TV screen*

The owner/boss was in Seattle last week for a forensic conference so it was slightly less hectic in the office but this week has already made up for that. There are also rumblings of some re-structuring but I’m optimistically hoping for not too drastic a change and it’s for the betterment of all involved.

I need to make a summary post of ongoing health issues, primarily the headaches and facial pain. My doctor made a referral appointment for me to see a neurologist next week for an evaluation because fibromyalgia is suspected. I’ve always had a high pain tolerance and have managed so far on way too much ibuprofen but I would just like to know there’s hope for pain-free days at some point in my future.

I began a ‘better eating plan’ on Sunday of last week. I had already started/stopped ‘better eating plans’ four times in January. Of course, last week my niece delivered all the Girl Scout cookies I had ordered. I’m tortured by thoughts of delectable Thin Mints chilled to perfection in my freezer.

My niece and nephew were really into the Olympics. I enjoyed them as well and had fun watching many of the events with the kiddos. They’ve since had to buy Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games for their Wii so they can continue getting their fix for skiing, ice skating, bobsledding, snowboarding, curling, etc.

My nephew’s academic team will be competing at the state competition this month so I’ve been him helping study for the Quick Recall matches (Quiz Bowl). The twelve year old scored Distinguished in every category on his standardized testing (CATS). *pats his head*

This morning I saw the Cadbury bunny commercial rabbit advertising Cadbury crème eggs which reminded me of simonsflower and how much she loved them. She was also the one who educated me on the brilliance of keeping my Thin Mints in the freezer. I’ve been thinking of her often as I now delve into some extensive genealogy research. One of Trisha’s interests was her own family tree and I wish I could share my amazing findings with her. I hope her family is doing well.

I spent this past weekend with some of my cousins. Friday evening after work, I drove the 3-1/2 hours to their house in west central Kentucky. Good thing I love road trips. I met the beaufriend at a restaurant at a midway point Friday evening since he was heading home as I was leaving town. My cousin’s two daughters, ages 15 and 20, also had friends staying over both nights. We mostly watched DVDs of television shows: last couple eps of Glee! (my cousin’s daughters have been indoctrinating her into the joys of Glee; I’ve been an addict since the pilot episode) and British sitcoms - The Vicar of Dibley and Ricky Gervais’ Extras. I have the complete series of all these. :D

We did get out of the house Saturday afternoon to go to a college basketball game. My cousin works at the college and her daughter is a student and cheerleader there. Some of my cousins’ friends who also teach and work at the college were there. I had met all of them before so that was a fun visit. We grilled steaks Saturday evening and my cousin made lasagna for lunch Sunday. The beaufriend was back at his place in Lexington Sunday afternoon so I stopped by his house on the drive home. Afterwards I met another cousin and her friend for dinner at the Olive Garden. They were both excited about their visit to a Metafaire of the Spirit, Mind and Body in Louisville on Saturday. My cousin is giving tarot readings and he’s into energy healing. Good things seem to be happening for them both. I got home about 10:30 Sunday evening. So, good eats/fun/company made for a nice weekend.

I’m keeping my niece and nephew this weekend so my sister and brother-in-law can go out of town for some time together. I’m looking forward to some quality time with the kidlets. *squishes them* :)

It’s freakin’ snowing again. Even on the days it doesn’t officially snow, I swear there’s a snowflake that swirls around my head and follows me everywhere I go. *so ready for spring*
