This was a complete blind read that I picked up second hand, and involves a death by poisoning.
The main character, Campion, the detective, was likeable enough, but I found this book really hard going at times because it was very dense, with a lot of conversations between characters. It did make sense in the end, but I found I had to pay attention a lot.
I was glad I gave this a go, particularly as the narrative didn't go quite in the direction I had expected at all times, and when you get to the end you will realise that the title takes on a whole new meaning.
