This was my third (at least) read of this book, and I'd forgotten quite how difficult how it was. Richard Adams is good at writing characters, but he does go off on tangents a lot, with his own thoughts (I am used to that from Watership Down ( Read more... )

I read this book some time again, and I found it as fascinating as I did before; I loved how obsessed author Andrew Martin is with every aspect of the tube, from its history to the design of the stations. I enjoyed reading about how some of the stations were used as shelters during World War II. It felt like a comprehensive guide to how the tube ( Read more... )

Re-read of a book that I reviewed several years back under my old username. I enjoyed reading this one again; liked the humorous accounts Mark Mason gave of things he witnessed on his journeys, as well as mentioning all the people he interviewed, and going into detail about the history of different areas.
