Get Your Words Out 2020 - May!
May was busy with a lot of work, which means that writing took a backseat. I managed to write 11,059 words, including a few thousand words on the 31st to up my count. My YTD word count is now 95,533, making me 20,533 words ahead of my current Pledge. I failed to reach 100K as I had planned, but, oh well. I'm good regardless.
If I had selected the 150K Pledge then my word count as of May should've been 62,500, averaging 12,500 words a month. If I had chosen 200K it should've been about 83,335, and averaging about 16,667 words a month. Either way, I would still have been ahead, especially since my average word count for the first five months have been over 19K. That said, I'm going to up my word count to 150K when they allow us to do so, going higher than that will probably just stress me out. I'm also not likely to keep writing that much every month, August excluded.
Should I choose 150K, then I have to write another 54,467 words. If I choose 200K, then it's 104,467. So either 7,786 words a month or 14,929 words a month. Both of them are doable if I look at my stats, particularly if I consider that I'm likely to write about 40K in August. But... I'm also likely to be frazzled after that month which will make me write much less. So, yeah.
As always, practice social distancing and wash your hands properly and often.
