Title:Life far more beautiful than a million dreams
Rating: G
Group/Pairing: Jin-centric // Jin/Kazuya
Notes: Thanks to my lovely beta N. This was written for the jentfic-remix, 5th cycle. It's a remix of emi-writes's Chasing dreams.

I'm running, faster and faster, step after step after step. This is my moment and I know it. I've come this far from that small town somewhere in the middle of nowhere, I've made it to Spain and I've led my national team here. I can't fail now.

In the corner of my eye, where I'm not looking at the ball at my feet, I can see many familiar faces, both Japanese and Spanish. The noise is drowning all communication, I'm sure someone is yelling commands at me, but I can't hear them. In my mind, there's only one thing: winning. I know no one would really blame me for not being able to win now, but I won't let that happen, so I run with the ball comfortably at my feet, past the Spanish offence, past their defence and then there's only Iker Casillas standing between the ball and the goal. Even though I'm focused solely on the game, I can feel his overwhelming presence and at the corner of my eye I spot Kazuya in the crowd.

He's beautiful, he always is. Now that I know he's watching, holding his breath alongside everybody else, I don't have a choice but to score. I can't let him down.

I focus my entire strength on the ball, gaze focused on the goalkeeper. I'm loading up my power and the next thing I know is that the ball has made good contact with my left shoe and is promisingly on its way to the upper left corner.

Jin wakes up when he feels the bed dip slightly under a weight. A quick glance at the blinking red digits of the alarm clock reveals that it's 2.37am and Kazuya has finally returned from a grueling day of work and is now sitting on the edge of the bed, taking off his socks and shirt before the inevitable scrubbing of face that Jin knows will follow.

"Hey," it's the voice of a man barely awake but Kazuya turns to Jin nonetheless.

"Did I wake you?" he asks softly and when Jin shakes his head in response he smiles softly and leans in to kiss the older man on the top of his head where it peaks from under the duvet. "Go back to sleep I'll be there in a while."

Jin's barely awake enough to nod before dozing off again. He stirs fifteen minutes later when the duvet is slightly lifted and Kazuya's warmth joins him on the bed. He's not quite awake but his hands go around Kazuya's naked torso without any thought.

The sounds that I cast out of the instrument fill the room as I compose yet another piece. Ryo-chan asked for something moody but gentle and I do my best to comply with my close friend's wishes. My fingers move effortlessly along the neck of the guitar. I replay a progression I find interesting before searching for the pencil a previously dropped on the floor in my haste to play some more and scribbling the notes on the messy sheet in front of me. It's a good day and the piece seems to write itself.

Kazuya comes home well after I've finished Ryo's piece and started on the next one, "a club sounding piece preferably in English" as my only guideline. He smiles when he hears me playing, softly humming along the melody. He stops in front of the couch while I play and when I raise my gaze to meet his eyes he lifts the familiar bag of takeout in a silent question. I smile, put down my guitar and pull him towards me.

Jin’s sleepy brain barely registers Ueda’s voice calling for him but then he’s harshly shaken awake and Kazuya seems to be coming out of sleep next to him on the couch too. The rest of KAT-TUN are already out the door when Kazuya leans in to steal a quick kiss before getting up and following the others.

Jin stays in the dressing room for a moment longer, looking at the door closing behind his boyfriend. He has a perfectly decent life, so why are these dreams popping up? Why now? He gets up only when he knows the others have already started rehearsal and they’ll be furious if he doesn’t show up soon.

I can more feel than hear the bass pounding downstairs as I sit in my office going through a pile of documents that need to be handled. There’s a big window on one wall and I can see directly to the dance floor and bar from where I’m sitting. I know I should’ve finished the documents by now, but still I decide to take care of them later when I spot Pi and Ryo-chan pushing through the mass of bodies to get to the bar.

Before I’ve even fully made the decision I’m already out the door and going down the stairs. I catch up to them just as the two reach the bar. I order us a round of drinks before following them to the table we tend to frequent. That’s where I get the most delighting surprise, as I hadn’t seen him with the other two. Sitting already at the table is Kamenashi-san, dressed in loose jeans, a crispy (I suspect, brand new) white shirt and a dark jacket, every strand of dark hair in their proper place. He’s perfect, as always.

“I hope you ordered me a drink,” he smiles and as I blush accordingly and he full out laughs. “It’s alright. I’ll just take yours then.” I don’t even have the capability to answer when I feel myself falling a little bit more in love with the man. Still I can practically feel my best friends roll their eyes at me as they push me down to sit next to the youngest of us.

Jin’s softly drawn out of his dream when the rays of sun start to fill the room, as they didn’t bother to close the curtains the night before. He’s fully awake when he hears something fall and break followed by Kazuya cursing quietly. Jin gets up and pulls on sweatpants before wandering into the kitchen to see what all the commotion’s about.

“You okay?” he asks as he looks over Kazuya picking up the pieces of the broken plate from the floor. The younger man turns to him and answers with a slight smile,

“Yeah, just a little tired I suppose. It slipped right through my fingers.” He dumps the pieces into the trashcan before shuffling over to Jin and giving him a sweet kiss.

“Morning,” he whispers against the older man’s lips.

I’m walking through the busy streets of Shibuya, a cap and sunglasses covering most of my face. No one’s paying much attention to me in the summer heat and that’s how I want it.

As I look up I can see the huge posters covering the sides of the tall buildings advertising this and that. A quick count tells me I’m in four of them and it makes me smile. The first one is me against the black background, posing stylishly in the dark picture, wearing only the newest model from Calvin Klein. On the other side there’s an advertisement of some new Lotte chocolate bar that I would never in a million years be allowed to eat. There’s one for some new clothing line I hadn’t heard of before and probably won’t hear of again, but apparently they had money.

The one I like the most though is the one where I’m posing with another male model, advertising the newest clothes from Russ-K. He’s pretty, on and off camera, young, hard-working and just plain gorgeous. We’ve worked together now for a few times as we’re part of the same agency and I’m on the top and he’s definitely one of the best new kids in the company.

There’s a company party later today and I need to swipe him off his feet. That’s what brought me here, hunt around the high-end fashion stores for the greatest party get-up ever.

I walk into one of the smaller stores, and to my shock, there he is, looking at some accessories that I’m sure would suit him perfectly. Before I have the chance to back out without being seen, he looks up. When his eyes settle on me, he waves and smiles in recognition.

Jin wakes up startled when something heavy lands on his shoulder. After the initial shock subsides he realizes it’s Kazuya who probably just sat down next to him and went to dreamland.

Jin knows he has a good life and doesn’t really understand why the dreams keep hunting him. He likes his work and his colleagues and he’s in love with the only person that all of his dreams have in common.

As he looks around the dressing room and sees Ueda, Nakamaru, Koki, and Taguchi and feels Kazuya’s weight by his side, he knows he wouldn’t change a thing. He has the best of all the worlds: music, fame, money, friends, and love.

A/N: Back when I was writing this there was no situation Akanishi going on, (else than instead of doing KT's tour he did one of his own...) but now everything's blown up and it's horrible. Now I'm kind of annoyed about having written this. Argh. There.
